knirirr Posted Saturday at 20:21 Posted Saturday at 20:21 Another tier 2 fail - new tailpiece for the guitar shown, plus a new guitar pickup. Still no new bass purchases, though. 3 Quote

How do the jury feel About “filth” like this ? tier2 fail on the pickup, bridges aren’t signal path so I think you’re home Free on that one Edited Saturday at 20:36 by Geek99 Quote
Richard R Posted Saturday at 21:14 Author Posted Saturday at 21:14 The bridge is part of the vibrating structures of the instrument, tansmitting and receiving vibrations and resonances between the strings and the body which contribute to the overall sound which will be detected by the pickup. So it is in the path betwen the player's fingers and the listeners' ears and replacing a non-failing bridge on a bass ought to be a T1 fail. On a guitar it's T2 as is the whole instrument. Well that's my view anyway. 4 Quote
msb Posted Monday at 18:36 Posted Monday at 18:36 I’m going to be out , just waiting to get the shipping costs and final bill. These have been on my radar for quite some time. This is the Korean reissue , improved tuners and set neck. Thumpy as all heck. I have too much stuff , but I’ve been looking at these for years. Finally will be getting one. 7 Quote

otisblove Posted yesterday at 00:42 Posted yesterday at 00:42 Just found this thread. Bought 2 basses and a neck in 2025. Might have to try in 2026. 2 Quote
Kiwi Posted yesterday at 02:31 Posted yesterday at 02:31 Just found it also. Failed miserably already...two basses, guitar pedals and some guitar rack gear. 1 Quote

Geek99 Posted yesterday at 06:35 Posted yesterday at 06:35 I only bought one thing this year (see above) and unwittingly assisted lee650 by doing so. (. 👍) Having bought exactly nothing in 15 years I feel pretty good about my mean abstinence rate when factored in over a lifetime. That one purchase was therefore a statistical blip and not significant in statistical terms. I therefore feel a prince Andrew style entitlement to reinstatement (despite the actual facts) - strange parallel there 🧐 3 Quote

Are you saying it's possible to factor that in for the averages? Already feeling better! 2 Quote

Richard R Posted 15 hours ago Author Posted 15 hours ago (edited) No averaging! Likewise no integrating, differentiating, fitting polynomials to the curve of the number of basses bought in a given period or training AI networks to calculate the maximum entropy of the data set of the basses for sale in the marketplace. Spoilsport. I know what Andrew would say, it wouldn’t be pretty 1 Quote
ProjeKtWEREWOLF Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago So far this month I have failed to be abstinent on several occasions. I have bought a new EHX Tri Parallel pedal, a Fuzzrocious Grey Stache from one of the members here., some appropriate (ish) patch cables and I've agreed to buy another Orange OBC115 cab (silly money, hope it doesn't fall through .....sort of). Sorry. Quote
Richard R Posted 13 hours ago Author Posted 13 hours ago Maybe for 2026 we should have a parallel "Gear Acquisition Challange"? T1, basses T2, pedals amps etc T3, any other instruments Points for quantity, not necessarily quality or cost. 1 1 1 Quote

Richard R Posted 12 hours ago Author Posted 12 hours ago Mine too. But he's got major house work to keep him occupied, do maybe he'll slow down? 🤔 Quote

The old one crackles like mad amd no amount of Servicol switch cleaner will resolve. It's going to be a bit of a mission to replace as the new pot isn't a straight swap. The old one is soldered to the preamp board and is much longer. This one will have to be fitted to the bass body and have extension wires to the preamp. That didn't work. Have given up and had to replace the whole pre-amp with the Artec SE-3. Hopfully that's allowed. Quote
