If memory serves correct I recorded this album with this head and a Mesa walkabout 112 cab. The recording was certainly the di out of the amp and possibly the cab blended too. In fact all our stuff was recorded and played with this head/cab combo. I had little to do with things once it was recorded so don’t know what else was done post but I loved the head. Always delivered live and it was my only rig for a few years.

This is the Musicman branded MarkBass amp from a few years ago - can't recall which MB amp its based on - cosmetically very like the original Musicman amps. Very fair price for an MB amp with a valve pre. Sadly I would also suffer from serious domestic health issues if I bought another amp!!! 🙂

These amps predate Markbass, MdV partnered with EBMM in the mid-late 90s on these. You cab certainly see in them

some innovation later adopted by Markbass  in for example the vintage character circuitry, which is very nicely done 👍

Not highly relevant I know but one of these was on eBay last week, asking £650 and the auction was ended after 2 days due to "the item no longer being available."

This is certainly a nice amp and probably worth a lot more than I'm selling it for, I got lucky and bought it from a studio owner local to me for £300 in an eBay auction and it's clearly had little use (I added £50 for the rack case and postage) 👍

Hopefully a simple fix for you. Sods law strikes again.

Thanks Dave, it still sounds lovely but hard to get anything other than the yellow preamp LED to light and switching tube hasn't fixed it :(
