Cort Artisan B5 plus - *WITHDRAWN* £350 Glasgow

Hi everyone,

 

As I've splurged on a Sandberg this is up for a tentative sale or trade.

 

I bought this in March to see how I got on with five strings. Turns out I like it!

 

It's a lovely bass in open pore burgundy with no marks on. Home use only. The burgundy is a lovely red and the wood grain comes through nicely.

The neck is a 5 piece panga-panga and walnut. Fretboard is roasted maple.

Plays really well and the Markbass mb-1 pre gives scope for plenty of sounds.

Pickups are bartolini mk1.

Tuners are hipshot ultra lite.

 

It weighs 4.2kg using bathroom scales.

 

Edit: would possibly consider trades for a compact combo. 

could post or happy to meet up around Glasgow (once cop26 madness is out of the way).

 

I keep playing it and having second thoughts so may withdraw of there's no interest...

These are ridiculously well specced for the price 

 

There was a six string version for sale on here a few weeks ago that I would have been all over if it wasn't for the gift that keeps on giving. 

 

Who ever buys this is going to get a fantastic instrument at silly money.

What is the string spacing at the bridge on these basses please?

It's quite tight. I think around 16.5 or 17mm. I really like that, but I know many others don't.

I'm pretty sure it's a 17mm spacing on this model, in fact Gregor says this in the video I posted above.

 

Funnily enough, I picked up a Cort SCMS5 last month and the string spacing on that is only 16mm!  I thought it would feel really cramped, as my other basses are all 18 or 19mm, but it's actually really easy to play and makes fingerstyle super fast!  I think if I slapped it would be a bit tight, but for fingers and pick it's a breeze.

If this said fender /Gibson etc on the headstock there would be a 1 in front of the 350 price
