That alone even at minimum wage would account for a fair slice of cash, the skeleton of the bass may be a brandless BO average bass but at £300 it can't be accused of being too expensive. Ultimately if it plays like a pice of sh*t then it is a piece of sh*t but were I after something to stand out from the crowd I'd give it a second look. This seller actually has some alright stuff. There was an acoustic bass much more tastefully inlaid which didn't sell at 67p no reserve. I only didn't buy it because of the high shipping cost. His are generally neck-throughs - he does a few notlobs these days but not many, and they're generally J- or P-type. Bruce Wei is either an offshoot of Antoniotsai or a second outlet - the six-string neck and body is identical (except for the inlaying) to the Antoniotsai one that I'm making painfully slow progress in adding bits to. Top horn is a bit on the short side so I think it'll have some neck dive when it's done. Neck feels really nice though. Now I'm getting tempted to buy a Bruce Wei 5-string... Low Down Dave Posted February 13, 2009 Share Posted February 13, 2009 It is a matter of taste and I am sure some people do like them as they look impressive, and you expect to have to set them up and perhaps even level the frets ect, but it is worth noting I have come across a few of these inlaid basses were the frets are incorrectly spaced so they can not be played in tune.
