Band relations by numbers

I took friends to mean just that. People with whom I happily associate beyond the band. Colleagues means those I feel neutral towards. Dislike doesn't mean active hatred or anything extreme like that just people who, if I weren't in a band with them, I wouldn't have any desire to see or speak to.

That's how I look upon it.  I don't have many 'friends' - people with whom I would discuss any aspect of my life, turn to in times of need or be there if they needed someone.  I guess other people look at their Facebook account and see that they have hundreds.

yeah. Someone you can be truly 100% sincere with. I don't have any "friend" right now.

Friends being people i socialise with and colleagues being simply guys in the band more like a workmate. Dislike is people i generally disagree with in the band or who don't pull their weight in the band.

5 : 0 : 4 : 0

I don't socialise with the band because we all live in different parts of the country and only meet up for rehearsals or gigs or the occasional band discussion night. We are approx 50 miles apart and living in countryside public transport isn't great after 9pm ish. We would probably socialise a bit if we lived nearer each other tho and that would change it to 5:4:0:0

this, I've got 2, none of them in the band, I've got people I'll happily chat to in the pub but wouldn't call them close friends, I couldn't ever see me being close friends with someone I'm in a band with,  band politics get in the way

Well, hard to say really, the internet is a very public place!

But also it depends on the term friends, I would say in general none of them as I don't have out with any of them outside the band but it doesn't mean I don't necessarily like them.

colleagues then?

If 'friends' includes 'family', it's been 5400 with our lot since formation. There have been a few changes in membership over the decades, but the formula has always been this way. Just lucky, I guess, or we're all easy-going, maybe. Band politics..? Nah, life's (far...) too short. :)
