Squier JV Precision

Hello

I'm having a major clear out and here is my first offering:

JV Squier P Bass - Modified with two split pickups

JV13267 Japanese Fender Precision in 3 colour sunburst with Rosewood fingerboard.

The bass has been altered during its life, mainly the addition of another split pickup in the bridge position. The routing for the pickup is not pretty and the chrome cover is needed to hide the butchery.

The controls are stacked cts pots - vol and tone for each pickup (similar to '62 jazz). The neck pickup is a JV and the rear was wound for me by Aaron Armstrong with a slightly higher output to match the neck pickup and offer a wider tonal palette.

The body appears to be sens ash due to the highly figured, dense grain (input welcomed) and the neck is the best fender neck I've played (hmmm... Should I be selling this??)

A collectors piece this is not, but if you want the JV quality, feel and sound for the price of an MIJ or Mex and can live with the mods, then this could be for you.

The condition is overall good, with a few knocks and scratches, but nothing big, or that goes through to the wood.

I live in Ashford Kent, and you are welcome to come to try the bass.

[s]There is no hard case for this[/s] [EDIT: Sturdy but tatty case found - courier no problem] the one in the photos is display purposes only, so pick up / meet up is preferable although courier is possible at buyers expense. Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you would like to know more.

Here are the pics:-

Sounds sweeeeet. Can't understand why this is still here, let alone for that price. Apart from that tone, the JV's just feel incredible in your hands.

I've been round Ash's tonight and he was really waxing lyrical about this bass.

Sounds tempting, especially the neck. :)
Thanks Karlfer - you're making me have second thoughts
