For anyone in or around nottingham, in the music inn on alfreton road they have a fretless westone thunder I in black that looks to be in VERY good condition for £145 and looks to be totally original, everything there. Just thought they don't come up all too often and especially in that sort of condition so one of you guys might be interested.

EDIT: ignore me! wrong thread!

Would that be the Westone Thunder that looks just like a Rickenbacker? :)

Colourful version of the one Nick has methinks. Countdown to vanishing...
That's a bit of a stunner. It'll be gone in a minute.

Here's a brand I've not come across before - Career. Seems to look the part (more or less), at least what you can make out from the small picture.

Perhaps the oddest thing about it is that it's been up there for 24 days without RIC pulling the auction.
funny, him posting that question will probably result in it being pulled
I've had a Rickenfaker auction repeatedly pulled, whereby there was no mention of anything Rick related.
Think they still claim copyright on headstock design etc.

If Big John simply doesn't like it, they'll take it down - no messing.

Hope it stays though, as I'm interested to see how much it goes for. :)

Gah. Bloody tell me about it. In about half an hour I'll be listing a lovely little 325 copy (g*it*r - as played by some bloke out the Beatles) for the third time. I'm concerned if they have me again, my account will go with it. There is absolutely nothing in the listing text that violates their T&Cs - but when did that matter?

That "Career"'s interesting - from the pic it looks very like the Shine copy, with a fairly accurate-looking bridge. If so that's a pretty good price - the Shine tends to be £500+

Remember my Mazeti 330, got removed twice. Absoulutely no reference to anything Rickenbacker, second time it was pulled photograph was just that of the pickup!
Mr. Hall actually sent me an email, if I recall, describing my 'antics' as being 'sneaky', for using such words as Lennon,Townsend,Weller etc in the listing. Tosser.

Be careful

I have everything crossed that's crossable, and quite a few appendages that ordinarily aren't.

However there's not much I can do without pictures - here it is, if anyone's interested:

Yeah, I thought it was very odd he posted that to the auction page. Worst thing about it is that it'll probably have everyone else messaging him as well. :)

Suppose there is a vague chance someone looking for a pricing of their's will be in touch with me.

Interesting faker with a BIN on £250, though it's had a neck repair.

No binding at the base of the body - I thought it was just the Giannini's that had that, but the tuners on this look very Japanese.

Turns out quite a lot of the Jap neckthroughs have the gap - my Matsumoku project (coming soon - honest!!) and that poor brutalised thing I sold recently both had it.

Anyway this looks like a former Shaftesbury - or possibly a Cimar, I think these were the same. Looks nice for £250. :)

Not as unusual a I thought then. I might have given him a call to see if he'd consider posting if it wasn't for that neck repair - I think I'd have to play something like that before splashing out.

This one's as good as gone already:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=250313534682

New tuners & fakey TRC means I can't really ID it - although probably Shaftie, Giannini or Matsumoku. I've asked if it has twin rods (and suggested he removes the R word from his listing!) if it does, it's a Mat. Probably.
