Thought it'd probably be best to introduce myself to this site, hopefully make a couple of friends along the way and just get the feel of things.
Well, as my user name says, my name is Emily...
And as the Topic Title says, I'm from Liverpool /awaits incoming of messages about The Beatles.

I've been playing bass for 5 years, 6 years this December.
In the past I've owned a Washburn T14 Taurus and an Epiphone Thunderbird IV. Currently, I own a Fender Modern Player Jaguar. I hope to buy more basses this Summer. Having only one bass rather sucks.

I like mostly electronica type music. The bands I'm mainly listening to at the moment are Metronomy, Daft Punk, Crystal Castles, You Only Love Her Coz She's Dead, JUSTICE and Disclosure.
Despite this, my all-time favourite band are Arctic Monkeys, with my all-time favourite bassist, Nick O'Malley.

That's all I can think to say for myself now.
Cheers!

Hi Emily... what ever you do, don't mention 'that Liverpool band' - it tends to rapidly degenerate into a slanging match regarding their influence on everything in the world that has happened since 1969.. or not, depending on your point of view ;)

It's a good forum though.. loads of excellent advice on all things Bass.. have fun!

Hi,

I tried a Fender Modern Player Jaguar the other day when I was in London and out of all the basses I tried that day, it was definitely my second favourite, for playability it was favourite but I still couldn't get with the look of it. But pretty nice anyway, if only I could get away with getting 3 basses in a month!
