The closed-loop servo-controlled thing is presumably to reduce distortion in the lows by tracking the cone excursion. The active parametric synthesis could be referring to some EQ built into the cab. Tri-amplified means that lows, mids and highs have separate amps with active crossovers. This should give far greater SPL capability and lower distortion than a conventional rig. This looks very impressive. IP Technologies did a similar thing with biamped active cabs which seems to have failed to take off. Here are the U.S. prices; AXB preamp, Man $1049, list £859........AXB 4108 enclosure, Man $4199, list $3549.......AXB 2105 combo, Man $4899, list $4159....AXB 2105 enclosure, Man $3499, list $2999. There is a mains input socket with no voltage selector, and it is good for 110-260 volts-ish, which suggests they are using a switchmode power supply for valve heaters, valve HT and the usual for the op-amps. That must be quite complicated. The use of separate led bargraphs for input level, post eq and post compression seems to be a bit of overkill. Many years ago as a young bass player I messed around with the idea of setting an ampliers inside a cabinet with some sort of preamp to help tune a 'response' into it. Laziness got the better of me and I never 'made it happen'. With the improvement of D class technology, it's possinle to create such a beast, yet not go too mad on the weight overhead. I see the Bergantino have cottoned on to the idea as well.. it's great to see that my daft idea way back when, wasn't so daft after all! BKElectronics still make the orginal model I planned to use all those years back [url="http://www.bkelec.com/Modules/mf450.htm"]http://www.bkelec.com/Modules/mf450.htm[/url] However, they also do this amazing little D Class amp. I used to own one but sold it to VelvetKevorkian, who I haven't seen on the forum for a while. I'm tempted to slip one in the back of my AGuilar GS-112.. which would make a monster little combo!!!
