The body has since been refinished sunburst by Jamie Davey in Shropshire.

When the replacement black neon/electric scratchplate arrived, it didn't marry up with the existing body hole configuration so rather than add additional holes just left the remaining screws out. The light is fired up by a PP3 9v battery kept in pocket with a small on/off toggle switch on the scratchplate.

I hope the first pic is attached as I 'post' this. I'm looking for £850

Good points.
Overall weight 3.9kg or 8.6lbs.
Rosewood fingerboard.
Reissue scratchplate not cream but snot green.

I'm not interested in p/x, only thing I wanted was a BBE maximiser which I've now bought.

Thanks
Geoff - pity about loading the pics in ad but please email (anybody) if REALLY interested as there are 24 shots.

Pictures at last (only 9 of 24 if this works I'll carry on) http://s1355.beta.photobucket.com/user/geoff90guitar/library/?#/user/geoff90guitar/library/?&_suid=13521452066610629286282933839

Nice looking bass.

Just out of interest (as I am no expert) but from other '70's Fenders I have seen recently, shouldn't the Serial number be on the headstock under where it says Fender? Or am I wrong about that?

No the Fender logo was smaller and the words Precision Bass in a different font when the serial number migrated to the headstock. I have owned two Precisions from this mid 70s era both had similar lettering to the picture above and serial numbers on the neck plate.

I thought I'd get a remark about original. Meaning is originally 1976 produced. Thats neck, body, pickups, bridge machine heads. There are so many various models made in other countries, reissues etc etc. Strings are recent Rotosound 45-105 round.

The logo and location of the serial number were changed during 1976.

"The Fender Bass" an Illustrated History is a must have book, and this link for some great info including decoding those mental neck end codes: http://home.provide.net/~cfh/fender.html
