I performed in a few jazz/big bands in my earlier days (plus one, utterly terrible indie band in the mid 90's), but after a fairly extensive sabbatical due to university and jobs I'm trying to get back into the bass with more of a soul/funk slant. I've honestly never heard anyone who's played a Hondo say a bad thing about them - plus it was my very first bass, so I've probably got a certain level of unnatural attachment to it...
