Comes without a pre-amp, but with space for almost any preamp, and a battery compartment already there!

It's this bass; http://basschat.co.uk/topic/87357-custom-78-fretless-p/page__p__831798__hl__shaggy__fromsearch__1#entry831798

Minus the Fender neck and the pickup cover! Almost 100% certain the Pizo isn't wired in at the moment..

I've got all confused Tom, can't work out exactly what you're selling.

Does the bass come with the piezo (but it's not wired up at the moment) or is the piezo now long gone?

Who is that neck by? I can't read the headstock logo.

Why would it need a "pickup cover"?

And what does it weigh in its current state?

Ta very muchly.

Piezo is installed but not wired in, using the normal pickups.

Neck is by Gak .

Photos from the previous owner showed a different neck and a pickup cover.

Weight is probably 7kgs ish, pretty heavy.. but worth it for the sound.

ooh - one of my old girls!

This went through so many permutations I lost track a bit myself, but as I recall it's essentially;

-2 piece ash body, with some of the nicest grain I've seen
- Gak (Italian) one-piece solid Zebrano neck, with unlined Santos Rosewood (Pau Ferro) board; really nice neck!
- Altec Alnico V "vintage" pickup
- Piezo bridge, preamp custom made by BC-er I bought it off
- Fender red tort p/guard

Though Tom may have changed the spec from above, and I know he had it fettled by a luthier/tech

Hell of a nice fretless for not much dosh....
