Rich Posted March 3, 2012 Share Posted March 3, 2012 My old 90s wood-necked Series 1 has been around the block a few times, in my hands and previous ones, and the hardware was really starting to get tired. Especially the bridge, which had long since stopped being black and was actually going green in places... The final straw came when I discovered that an intonation screw was missing. I could have got a new screw from Status, but instead i took the opportunity for a bit of a change and went for gold. A set of tuners and monorail bridges later and, well, i think it look a million bucks. Limited success so far, think i'm going to have to grind the rest off. Another option is to get some brass rod and make my own. If i can polish it highly enough and lacquer it, it might be ok. Very strange! [/quote] Oddly I've got a wooden Energy and a couple of Series 1 Matrix all with black hardware and they look as good now as they did when I got them in 1992.
