Don't be silly. The clues are in there. He plays bass. The site is for a company that builds guitars. It's a bass guitar. :o :o :)

My coat is already hanging on my arm. :)

I know there's been a lot of progress in a short time and the steps are missing (I'll try to get the photos and fill in the gaps) but this is the latest batch of Photo's I've received..As you can see, now just days, possibly a week, from finishing..

The Cherry body needs to be oiled, frets installed and the Cocobola fretboard finished, the headless system is positioned temporarily and this is probably the next job needs doing. Weighs in at 9lb 3oz currently.

Mark's flying with this - gone from pieces of timber to needing frets and finish within 3 weeks. He says another couple of weeks and it should be with me...Obviously you can't tell the quality of the work from these photos but I'll give a review and detailed photos when it's completed..nice early Xmas pressie to myself courtesy of a recent Tax rebate..

Mark's prices are very reasonable/competitive...the other basses which I've seen look very well finished and well made..I'll let you know whether it's value for money..

I like that pickup routing, it's like they were pushed into the body when it was soft. very cool! I haven't seen anything that before, was that your choice or the luthiers?

But where you gonna stick yer thumb?
Looking very, very nice matey.

It's one of Mark's trade marks - I was a bit wary at first but he assures me that he's never had any problems with any of the other basses that he's built..Bass needs to lose a little weight on the top and bottom horns (a la Gibson SG) - I'm looking for a more streamlined look - but this a merely a refinement..hoping to have it early next week..
