Has anyone developed a light gig bag stand for a jazz bass yet ? I've bought loads that do Precisions and the like, but they don't like the offset body!
Just a thought for the Dragons Den types out there! and I'm in for only 10% :)

In theory it shouldn't matter if the bass neck isn't verticle, it's fine to sit it in wonky so long as the centre of gravity is safely within the pivot points. It might look unstable, but it'll actually be less so.

Disclaimer: I don't have a jazz, I don't know if that is so hard.

Get a stand with a pivoting arm setup, this will accomodate the Jazz arse.

Not as compact as the A frames, but they`ll pack away in a gig bag.

They tend to try and put the pointy side through the lower arms which in turn tips them over, Quite annoying really.

It's usually quite easy to put a thunderbird down! :) (sorry, couldn't help it, don't mean it though!)

If you've got a lasrgish gig bag then a Hercules Grab stand would suit you.

Or this might be ideal...

Tho it might be worthwhile looking at all their guitar stands as it shows a few holding Jazz basses.

Edited to say Guitar Guitar usually stock em & I got my grab stand from them for £20.

Ah but my amp and cab is only 18" high with no side handles. :)
I've always thought size mattered - now I'm convinced.

Cheers

I've had the Ultimate Guitar Stand GS-100 for years and it has accomodated a Thunderdird and a Jazz without a problem. I think there is a new grab head version, too. Folded down at the moment it is 53cm/23" long.

I think that this is one of those subjects that seems to come up quite regularly as I've definitely posted this before but I thought I'd take a picture.

One Thunderbird on a £4.82 Thomann Millenium stand

I've even had an explorer on there before.
