Kiwi
My Ritter RCG700 double gig bag is on the verge of falling apart after 6 months... ...well, it was falling apart 2 weeks after I got it all due to some shoddy stitching around the shoulder straps that I had to reinforce with some black denim from some old jeans so I don't want to get Ritter again. However I've looked on websites and I can't see any alternative suppliers. Does anyone know of any?!

Kiwi
The padding is very thick, which has got to be a plus. But the shoulder straps MUST be securely fastened as the two Smith basses are fairly heavy. I've also found these: http://www.goincase.com/products/detail/dub-bag-cl56066/1 and these: http://www.doc1rock.com/osc/eshop/product_...?products_id=64 and these: http://www.harvest-guitar.com/double-bass-bags.php but the cost of the last two is a little eye watering. BassBod
I'v seen a Warwick one in the past - probably suffers the same lack of durability as the Ritter though. I've recently got one of the Harvest bags form Chris at Overwater - the single canvas version. Its a lot better made than any bag I've seen, except maybe the good Levy's ones. I'm expecting it to outlast the typical Warwick/Ritter by at least four times, so hopefully it will pay for itself in the end. I'd be tempted to go for the Levy's canvas double bag (assuming they do one)? But check the delivery costs and taxes! BB
The Funk
I'd like to see the results of this thread too. I'm after a double gig bag and was looking at the Ritter model, until I heard about your experiences, and also the Warwick double gig bag. I figure the Warwick double gig bag should be a good match for two Warwicks... or is there a flaw in my logic somewhere?
BassBod
I don't think I'd trust a Warwick bag with two Warwicks....I've owned three (one of the standard Rockbass and two slightly higher spec) and the quality of the the stitching is not good. After a year or so of careful (usually car) use there are a few areas where things are starting to come apart - velcro coming away/straps attachment points or zip stitching. With the added weight of two basses, I'd expect them to suffer more quickly. I don't think they're terrible products - they don't cost a lot and are well designed. But to securely carry two basses, I'd go for the best I could find (I'd rather carry two bags....but that's just me) BB
Guest subaudio
I have one of the better Warwick double bags, the bags are well made and well padded but the shoulder straps always break on these, I have had a few and all have lost straps, not good when carying two basses. Aussiephoenix
I've got a Fender doublebag, I've had it for at least a year and a half now, and its still tip top... Im confident mine will last a long time still... It depends how well you treat it I suppose.
Alpha-Dave
CK: you say last 2 are expensive, but as Incase only use UPS for overseas so it'll cost you the same as the other two! ... unless you have a friend in the states and take advantage of their free shipping offer, then get it forwarded with the USPS. The Funk
Those 2 expensive ones you found look fantastic. 400 Euros is a lot of money though!

ZPQ
I do - I have the guitar and bass version. I think they are ace, but I would mention that my guitarbag has started to fray a little on the piping. Bass bag is ok but it hasn't had the same amount of giggage so either it will go the same way or I was unlucky with the guitar one. Seems pretty solid, the wheels are ace at the end of the night and the padding is thick enough for me - if I needed more I'd use the hard cases. Cheers John

gilmour
hmmm, I didn't even realise that these exist. It could make me re-think the whole back up bass thing - I don't currently bother taking one, but if I could have two in the same bag... Keen to know what you go for and if it's any good Edited September 28, 2007 by gilmour
Happy Jack
Why am I still surprised at the quality (and cleverness) of German design? I play German basses and drive a German car, so you'd think I'd have this one sorted by now.
Shonks
check this......I bought a Tribal Planet gig bag for an acoustic bass guitar for £10, from ebay. I use just the back of an old gig bag I cut out, and place it between the two basses. Been doing this for over a year now. Basses are great, bag is still in good shape, and my wallet is still full of money!! on the other hand - when I started to play bass ( many years ago ) there was no such thing as a gig bag. So even carrying two about in seperate bags aint that awkward, is it! all the best S
Lee-Man
The incase ones are good, but very heavy.
dudewheresmybass
I've been using peavey double bags for both Bass and guitar for at least 8 or so years now. the only problem i ever had with them was that the strap clasp thing was made of plastic and snapped. However a visit to my local emporium quickly sorted that out. They are still in their catalogue (at least according to the one i got from LMS!), however peavey's policy is to not put prices in their accesories catalogue!
