  1. Good to see a meet that is quite local to me. I plan on being there. Got a few basses, but may only bring one or two. 5 String Wal Warwick Ltd Edition Fretless. I've got some t-shirts to sell, too. Scratchplates for Jazz, Precision, Stingray? Hopefully see you all there.
  2. Nice modifications. A good example of how to make a good bass even better. GLWTS.
  3. Nice looking bass. Can you tell me some specs? What is the body and neck wood? I presume the fingerboard is ebony? Cheers.
  4. Rich and tight? That sounds like a couple of people I know. They're very subjective too.
  5. Ha ha. No, I'm not into defretting a bass. I prefer unlined. However, if a fretless neck could be found for it, then that is another matter. Can the necks be bought for them? Do you know what the body wood is? How would you describe the tone? Cheers.
  6. Bump for a great looking bass at a great price. I'm after a fretless at the moment. If this had a fretless neck, I'd have it tomorrow. Good luck.
  7. Well, I could be interested in a sale, if I sold my 6 string.
  8. Is this still up for sale? If so, are you interested in a trade? I have a Yamaha TRB 6 string to trade. Translucent red, quilted maple front. Immaculate condition. Pictures available upon request. Please let me know, either way. Cheers.
  9. No worries sprocketflup. I've hopefully got myself an audition. Looking forward to doing it.
  10. I'm interested in this. I'm also up for sharing transport with someone. I'm based near Tamworth. I have a 6 string Yamaha TRB that I'm looking to sell. Can I bring this along? I've also got a 5 string Wal (not for sale). Anybody want to try one of them?
  11. Wow!! Just spotted this advert. I would love to be a part of this. Pro bass player, big kate Bush fan. Local to Birmingham. I missed out on the other Kate Bush band based in the south, which my good friend Sprocket Flup has now joined. Please let me know if this is still available. Cheers, Dave 07941 991881.
  12. I have for sale clear scratchplates to fit Musicman Stingray. These are for the later/current model with the cutout for the truss rod adjuster. These can either be used to show the grain of your body, if you have a Natural or Translucent finish, or alternatively, why not create your own design, print it out, then place beneath the scratchplate for your own custom graphic. Your imagination is your limit. You can use photographs, drawings, artwork of any description - just print out, or you can actually paint your own design on the reverse of the scratchplate. This will be fully protected, as it will be behind the scratchplate, yet still seen absolutely clearly. The pictures show a few designs, but obviously, you create your own. I have sold loads of these on ebay, with many, many happy customers who are thrilled with the way their bass now looks. Postage is only £1.50. Paymeny by Paypal for added security. 14. Hi Harry. I am free for that date. I'm a pro player, 27 years experience. Good reader. Can you let me know more details please? Cheers. Dave.
  15. Hi. I am interested in this post. It would be good to know a little more about the band. (age ranges, etc) I am a pro player, 46, been playing for 27 years, good gear, good grooves, good sense of humour. Incidently, I was with a function band for over 2 years, and we never found a keyboard player who would commit. We had a pool of about 4, and we had to see who was available for each gig. Cheers, Dave.
  16. Had a buyer come to try the bass on saturday. Didn't take him long to come to a decision. This bass is now sold.
  17. I have reluctantly decided to sell my Yamaha SLB 100, as times are hard and getting harder. I have rarely had chance to use this beautiful instrument, but it has seen some use on a few jazz gigs. it is generally in very good condition, but there are a few marks on it. These were mostly caused when I moved house, as it got knocked a couple of times. Nothing major, but they are visible. Most marks are indentations, so the finish is not affected too much. There is a small scratch area on the bottom of the bass, but the pic makes it look worse than it is, as it has only just scratched the surface. It also comes with the stand and gig bag. I believe these were extra, and did not come with the instrument as standard. The action is set nice and low, and the bass sounds great acoustically and also plugged in. There are some dot markers on the side of the neck, but these are only tipex, and can easily be wiped off. (Yes, I am an electric bassist having a go on electric upright). After putting a feeler out on this, I have had a couple of replies suggesting a fair price may be somewhere just into 4 figures, so I am looking for £1100. Due to it's size, it will be collection only. I cannot deliver, as it will no longer fit in my car. Anybody is welcome to come and try the bass out. Please give me some notice on this. I am available most days, but only certain nights. Thanks for looking. 18. Hi. I'm thinking of selling my Yamaha SLB 100, but not sure what it's value would be, or if there is interest for these. It is generally in very good condition, but there are a few marks on it, mainly caused when I moved house. Most are small, but there is a fairly large mark on the right side of the body, where it sits in it's stand. The marks are generally indentations, rather than scratches, so the colour around the area is not affected. The stand is included, and also a matching gig bag. I believe the stand itself cost around £150 new. I was hoping that a figure around £1000 would generate some interest. If that's the case, and someone wants it, then let me know. Similarly, if my expectations are a little high, let me know that too. (I'm basing my figure around what I bought it for 2nd hand, so hopefully, I'm somewhere in the right ballpark). I can let any interested parties have some photos. Thanks for looking.
  19. I notice that the auction is obviously now over. Did it sell at £360, or did you end the auction? If you still have the bass, are you interested in a trade? I have a Yamaha TRB 6 string that I am not using at the minute. Mint condition, Translucent red. Very nice instrument.
