1. Hi guys, I was at a recording studio recently and a guy there had an origional '60s Shin-ei Companion FY2. It was pretty beat up but it worked at least. Just wondering, what would be the average price for one of these pedals as the guy was quite interested in selling it after I told him that anything to do with guitar/bass made in the 60s sells for stupid money cause it's "vintage" Cheers, BOB
2. haven't a clue wat that pedal is... kinda reminds me of a tonebender. btw, of topic, but is your avatar from the anime Beck?
3. It actually sounded like w*nk when I first got it... after a setup and a change of pickups (origional high gain ceramics were horrible... changed to lower gain alnico Vs), I can say the same in that it's my only 6 string I need
4. thanks guys that's an older model Pedaltrain board (got it in a sale). Medium sized I believe. The case in the background is indeed a Gibson case... holding a '67 reissue V
5. Hey guys, pretty much finished my pedal board, just need to take the Tonefreak Abunai 2 out on a few gigs to see how it cuts through the mix Signal Chain: Bass> Korg DT10bk> EBS Multicomp> Akai Deep Impact> Tonefactor Eeyore (loop1 send> Analogman Chorus> return) (loop2 send> Roger Mayer Voodoobass> Tonefreak Abunai 2> return)> Subdecay Noisebox> Amp Sorry about the crappy pics, my phone hasn't been right since I spilled a cup of tea on it >_
6. If i was to get a fuzz, it would definately be the Subdecay Flyingtomato or the MI Audio GI Fuzz.... i'd probably get the GI Fuzz just cause it has a bright, PINK LED
7. Hey guys, been messing around with a Subdecay Noisebox and thought I'd post a few clips here. These are just a few settings (the first being alot different from the next 2, while those are slightly different, although essentially the same settings). Clip 1 is recorded with a Rick 4003, dead strings, neck pup, tone rolled off. Clips 2+3 are recorded using a Fender Am. Deluxe Pbass with flat eq, both pickups on and fresh-ish strings. All the clips are recorded using a cheapo combo and a very cheap swaneck mic. Clip 1 Clip 2 Clip 3 Kudos to anyone who recognises these tunes without reading the file names
8. Great plan Tayste! I'm up for it, PM'd!
9. If it's noisy, I assume the adaptor is an all perpose one, or a cheapo no brand jobby from maplins or radio shack? If it is, that's not surprising. Those multipurpose adaptors often have very poor filtering because they aren't specifically designed for audio equipment. Apparently, the Boss 9V adaptor's very good if you only need it for the Microbass.
10. Ste, the guitarist in my band has been using the Planet Waves tuner for a while with an adaptor, but last rehearsal, he used it with a battery and everytime he left it in his signal chain, there was this loud high pitched screeching. I don't know if that's the same as the noise you mentioned, but is there anyway to get rid of it? (appart from the obvious idea of not leaving it in the chain, or using a looper to mute it)
11. Here's my gear: Fretless early '90s MIJ Pbass: Fender US Deluxe Pbass V: Rickenbacker 4003 in BlueBurst: Fender MIJ 62 Jbass: Gibson 67 Flying V: The pedal board and rig: ^_^
12. I use an EBS multicomp... it's the best pedal I've tried without going into rackmounted territory. I only use mild compression mostly just because it evens out the dynamics of your playing which for VERY fast fills or runs is a life saver. It also evens out slap and general adds what is universaly known as "punch" to your sound. Notes seem to hit you harder and just... sound a bit phatter if you get me. Hope this helps
13. i do believe tonefactor have just released a new tremelo... wouldn't surprise me if it worked well for bass: http://www.tonefactor.com/proddetail.php?prod=SugarBaby
14. GHS Boomers on my fretted Fenders TI Flats for my fretless p-bass Elites medium-light (40-100) for my Rickenbacker Ernieball Regular slinkies for my guitars
15. Lush bases dude... I especially like the Attitudes and the Ibanez
16. either the korg dt10 or peterson strobostomp... both do their duties very well, although to be honest, i feel that the korg is far more money for value
17. Cool, cheers dude! YUS! Fully fledged member now ^_^
18. http://www.absolutemusic.co.uk/shop/view_p...ct=kormicrokorg sorely tempted to buy one of these for use on stage for some songs, does anyone have any experience with these? Thanks! BOB
19. This issue I've found interesting too... also, it may not make any sense at all, but my overdrive/fuzz pedal reacts better to my active fender if I leave my EBS multicomp on a low compression setting...

22. fair enough mate... if i really liked phaser, i'd probably have a 2 stage and a 4 stage phaser too lol.
23. I've been really busy lately (rehearsing, recording, moving stuff out of my room because it's the end of uni etc). I'll post it when I've got free time, but till then take a chill pill, I don't need to be pm'd about posting it tbh =\
