Out of alot of his stuff, this is the only one I come back to now and again: Just holding it down and doubling the melody, nothing flash at all.

I'm an advocate for playing in lower tunings, since trying it propely almost over a year ago I have pretty much fully adjusted to it and I don't regret it all. Anyone who still thinks that tuning low is purely for metal truely need to pull their head out of their ass.

Because otherwise you've then got to decide between wether to stick with what your comfortable with for the meanwhile, or try something which is quite different. If you've had quite a few 4's and are starting to feel a little fed up with what you got then I'd say go for the Jazz 5.

Sounds like you've already kind of made your mind up man. Stick with what your comfortable with for the mean while and get the VM, they are also pig easy to upgrade as well if you really feel the need.
