2.
What made you the bassist you are today?
Persistence and drive/passion. I'm 100% certain that I want to make a living out of my hobby, and not be one of the 40+ year olds who wind up on the pub circuit reliving old glories.
Who do you think had the biggest influences on how you play now?
Dave Savage. The man showed me in person how strong "On the One" grooving really is, and out of all of my lessons with other teachers and other sources his teachings still stick with me.
Where do you think you want to go from here?
I just want to get the certificate to say I'm a Professional Bassist so then I can instantly try and hunt down a position and try and make a name for myself.
Why do you think you want to go there?
As said, I can't see myself doing anything else...well unless someone offered me an acting role and became uber famous by default.
Do you believe you have a "personality" on the bass?
I do, but it's taking it's sweet time to have it fully make it's presence known.
Specialist question: What is it you love about that 1971 P-Bass?
I'll throw the curve ball. Why the P-Bass? Of all the amazing/interesting/clever/pretty basses you go for the Kathy Burke of all basses. P-basses have one tone, and thats a dull thud with oomph, or less oomph if it's made in Mexico (Which is ironic considering it is the home of the Burrito).
 3. I want another Sadowsky at some point, but my Siggery will do the job for the means, both in looks and tone. Great basses.
 4. Why did he have to go and ruin the video with Brian Fox?
 5.
Not quite 50 yet but only 6 months to go
Pfft, 36 more like.
 6.
Nah. I think Ben's got a heavier groove than Dirk and appeals a bit more to me.
Nothing Ben has done thus far has come close to Dirk's heavy grooves on Science. Ben doesn't even play most of Dirk's slap lines live as it is and just generally has a softer approach, I enjoy him as a melodic player though, as opposed to a groove player.
 7. Just stumbled on this clip of Dirk recording for his current band: I actually quite like it, but still it's nice to get a rare glimpse of Dirk playing post Incubus.
 8.
Most concerning comment to me made so far was that it had a very 'rock' sound. What do you mean by this? I play everything from jazz to funk to brazilean to metal, so it needs to be flexible (although i am hoping to upgrade atleast the p pickup pretty soon after getting it).
I think Bubinga is really just highlighting the fact that it has a great Rock-like growl, well almost Warwick like IMO. I can assure you that the bass has many tones to it, your really better off trying one before you get one if your not sure though.
 9. I've still got mine but use it very rarely (Only really when I remember that it's gestating in it's case). It was the first bass I took my playing seriously on and in retrospect really did the job very well, they are surprisingly growly for the price and have a decent variety of tones to them. I also still love the look of the bass and the string spacing, they are great medium level basses but as Machines said they are sometimes quite bad, but I've played owned 2 V950's and played a V940 exclusively for a while and I enjoyed each one. Also, if you've got a decent back the weight isn't such a problem. If mine wasn't in such need of a serious set up I'd most likely play it more often as it really does have a Thumb bass like growl to it.
 10. I wonder what is the percentage of bassists who play Status who aren't Mark King clones or in a Level 42 tribute?. To be fair, I've had a King Bass, and it was a solid and interesting bass, but for some reason it just didn't jump out as spectacular. It was also capable of more than just hammering out Level 42 tunes, but unfortunately thats mostly all we see from them.
 11.
How can anyone seriously call that lift music!?!?
It's not hard .
 12. I'm still finding it hard to see whats so spectacular about her playing. To my ear it just sounds like a modern take on Jaco, nothing ground breaking or new. Great tone though.

 14.
ooh nice! Been thinking about changing my 2x10 to 2 1x12s, and that looks like what I'd be goin for. Sexy!
I would.
 15.
i will gatt you up boy
Make sure you get a left handed knife.
 16.
like i say, did try it and I lost all drive to play the instrument as my timing just disappeared up its own wazoo
Wuss.
 17.
i agree, some lefties can play right handed through practise, but I know some that tried to start playing right handed from the beginning and just couldn't get their heads round it and had to get a left handed instrument
Try a little harder son and one day you'll be like me . I think all lefties should try it, the world would become a less confusing place.
 18.
Lorraine... the images... ow... time to go wire wool my eyes... gotta love the separate power section for the tweeter though never got to use it myself, does it make much difference?
Just think of Coleen Nolan and you'll be fine! It really does man, the tweeter and woofer controls really come into play, as does the contour and presence controls. It really is just as Hi-Fi as the mroe expensive stuff, but just feels more honest and is half the price. I think I've found a keeper.
 19.
Josh speaks the truth! He should know too, he nicked my GK rig
Dude I had the biggest smile today when I plugged in the GK speakon which showed up today. Just jamming along to The Police and assorted Sting songs, and then some Stevie, this rig really punches the EBS rig in the face. The tone is smoother than Kate Beckinsales fine arse, but as growly as Lorraine Kelly after a spicy burrito.
 20. Kash, man you'll get a very smooth and growly sound, depending on how you eq it of course.
 21.
Just wanted to say Hi, I am from the San Francisco Bay Area in California USA.
You extremely lucky bugger! And finally someone who's on par with me regarding Jason and Cliff. And as such my question is this, have you actually got any photo evidence of Cliff using the Alembic Spolier? And Welcome Jason!
 22. The poor saps are missing out! Anyways, this was mine as of 2 days ago and worked perfectly and I can vouch for the condition of the amp as well. Buy with confidence.
 23. Josh = Legend. End of.
