me too, even when it was in I had no idea, I just twidled it sometimes. I've only ever used it for a tuner, though I suspect the knob is for the metronome part of it
Good point. Missing it yet though man?
my my, what a sexy amp, wonder where you got that from! Is it just me or is a knob missing from the rack tuner?
I thought it was like that when you had it? *Just nipped upstairs and checked again, I found it, but I'm still confused on what the hell it actually does.
And for me the master on bass..Dale Black...you have to see/hear the jam he gets going with the drummer..i love his chordal work at 8.40..Incredible...I think this guy is as good in the groove if not better than Wooten, Gouche,....IMHO http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ThwuJVcyoA
Easy tiger, comparing Gospel Bassists to the virtuoso/soloist guys isn't really a fair cop. The latter thrive on solos and technical correctness, whereas the prior are just happy to lay down a solid groove and have fun whilst doing it, they just happen to be amazing at it. Though I'm a little annoyed at the fact I didn't really get that tone Dale gets out of his EBS rig and Lakland.
Dont forget Dale Black..He is incredible.... Thanks for that Josh..I love my Gospel/Urban Gospel.. PS please check out a band called 'New Direction' (i cant stress enough, how good there album is)
Theres far too many to name who could've been on it instead, Dale Black is briliant though. Will do man, I just hope their not too Religious that it's too hard to even pay attention to the bass.
I was quite excited about this until I saw the video. I think its soulless compared to the gospel I like listening to. Where's the love?
Well, in all honesty theres only really 2 "Gospel Musicians" out of the bunch, 2 younger generation GM's, and the rest are just fusion soloists/technichians. The widdling from Janek, Hadrien and Damien could easily be replaced by a couple of other well known Gospel bassists (Justin Raines, Maurice Fitzgerald & Dwayne Wright would've been perfect).

It's something I've been waiting for for a long time now, and it's almost here: Although I can't see how Hadrien, Damian and tBBC's best friend class as Gospel bassists.
Thanks for the input all. I don't really know what I'm after, but I guess I like the idea of a jazz type bass as it's a bit further away from my current Status.
JO5 it is then.

If you want a solid workingmans 5 string Jazz, get the JO. Or... If you want a solid workingmans 5 string Jazz/MM/Precision hybrid, get the 55-02.
I've been having a similar problem using a Stringray to emphasise the low end on our new album; ended up recording some of the tracks on my Jazz. Is there anything out there that plays like a Ray but sounds like a Jazz?
A Lakland 44-02/55-02 maybe what your after.
Yeah, im looking for something with a bit more warmth, the EBS are a bit to clean cut for me know. Just need to shift my gear!
I don't know about clean, I'd say they are very harsh sounding. If I had the treble and bright controls cut, and the tweeters off, I would still get a nasty harsh tone, no warmth at all, and at loud volumes it just was pretty muddy and the tone became indistinct. Also I found the tube/boost controls next to useless.
Really? What do you find so different?
GK are incredibly smooth sounding, the control over the mids is exactly what I want as well, whereas on the TD650 I was constantly wrestling with it and always ended up quite annoyed with the mids for being so damn irritating to control! If you want simple control over the mids and a much more warmer sounding head, I would happily suggest a GK 1001RBII. Also, the head runs so quietly as well.
I had a Trace 4x12 for a while - it was an absolute rock monster. An open E string could kill a grown man at 50 paces
Well thanks to you I may very well be getting a 2nd 2x12, now surely you must be champing at the bit to come and hear it .

PM me!
You won't believe me but I've just literally commited to a deal on a 2x12 wirth RussFM only yesterday. Sorry man.
I love her playing, I bought her two first cd's...saw her three times live in concert (not always that convincing, last time was more of a jam with a dj and a band helplessly looking for directions and just relying on "the groove".) That's a bit my problem with a lot of funk... Even with this youtube thing : after two and a half minutes, I was actually a bit bored. Great bassplaying, tight pocket but I just love to hear a song. Maybe that's what keeps me away from a lot of funk-concerts. After seeing a jam on two chords during ten minutes my attention goes somewhere else, how great the playing might be. Still, great bassplayer..One of her basslines I use a lot for soundchecks because it just sounds and feels so great.
+ 1.
