  1. If Sire engaged in a legal dispute I’m sure their margins aren’t big enough to take the hit and it’d have to be passed to the consumer in a very competitive market where price point is one of their key advantages. Probably a lot cheaper to just redesign instead.
  2. I didn’t know Davie504 took drugs 😆
  3. Sadly not right now as the ex took the house scales! Mike is a very good teacher! It’s not often you get access to a teacher of his level and experience. One of my favourites I experienced at ACM for sure.
  4. I did not! In this day and age though I think it’s unusual outside of snoop dogg and Joe rogan to see an interviewee that’s not sober given that anyone has access to the clip.
  5. Maybe… but they don’t make you better at interviews! I enjoy the Anderson Paak band but this is a tricky watch and I can feel Ian struggling through some of it.
  6. Thought will only lead to the inevitable and delay it’s arrival into your hands
  7. I asked for mine to be on the lighter side and they obliged. No idea of the actual weight but feels like standard fender.
  8. You can always swap them back out if it doesn’t get you what you wanted. £55 is a score! Some strings are almost that much.
  9. Now I’m really gutted I wasn’t the lucky lottery winner last night! These are just wonderful.
  10. Because most customers have eyesight
  11. Must be late 59 to have tortoiseshell p/g and rosewood board. Looks very 60s to me. Never heard of Shellback either so they need to drop that price by £53k!
  12. The gigs I’ve been to, it’s not kids who are the problem. Even regularly see the same from middle aged and older at football matches!
  13. That sounds like those end of life parties people now throw instead of funerals… were acting happy but really inside we’re still very sad! Having said that I picked up my p bass for the first time in months and I’m happy again!
  14. There’s been a lot of nice NBDs recently… I’m getting twitchy 🤣
  15. It’d be less murky if the retailer/ dealer disclosed themselves as such through a commercial account, which I know did exist previously, and then it is up to the seller if they’re happy to sell to a retailer. But you’d be relying on honesty and I guess most would just setup a free account and use that instead.
  16. It looks tidy IMO. I’d be very happy with it if it sounded good.
  17. Ticks a lot of boxes to my novice eyes
  18. Must have gone to the same luthier school as Letts Basses
  19. I thought this. Wasn't uncommon for pickups to be replaced in that era and some will need the extra space.
  20. It’s definitely a 2 piece body and those pieces don’t match in the slightest 😂
  21. Ive done both of these exercises on bass with Joe Hubbard. You learn the notes very quickly. Even now I’m still practicing similar variations.
  22. Probably should have just used the existing thread rather than creating a new one IMO. Then those who like to critique BB have already done so 😆
  23. Of course it’s all in the fingers, and I think your light touch helps for the pinoesque tone in the first vid. The low action probably helps with the late 70s/ early 80s focussed disco vibes of the other tunes. Yet I’m still blown away by the bass. Put me out of my GAS misery, do you think it is the 50/60 year old woods, the PUP combo, or a combination of both that gets that warm fat sound?
  24. I’ve never played a short scale but I’m stunned how well that could pass for a really good P or J tone! Loverly stuff
