  1. I had a fortress 5 many years ago. Well made but was heavy and difficult to get the action low. Also I believe all Warwick designs (broad neck aside) have 17.5mm spacing as standard.
  2. Funnily enough I think their first masterclass and gig in London was platoons 15 years ago. It has to be my greatest ever musical experience.
  3. TBG seem to change the pricing on their site once a bass has sold from basses I’ve been following. I don’t know if it’s to do with sale minus commission and they record that value on the site.
  4. I’m pretty sure that’s how it’s taken by all. This would be a very boring and entirely pointless thread if everyone just encouraged each other to give in.
  5. T2 for sure, T1 is harsh
  6. I guess I use mine as an instrument/ keyboard and I see it as an interface in a signal loop in the middle of whatever software holds the sounds.
  7. I would like the technical explanation. Under 5000 words though please 😉
  8. Maybe they’re hoping Trump supporters don’t know that’s Mexico 😂
  9. Buy a beige one and draw orange lines on it. Hey ho AAAA flame maple
  10. Not sure how I’d cope without G strings….
  11. Says he bought it 14 years ago. For the OP. If you’re thinking about selling put it in the classifieds for the price you expect.
  12. Genuine and common sense tip. You want something that can be easily found on a dark stage floor/ back room. For something so expensive, they’re easily lost.
  13. I would question why you’d have signed up for the challenge in the first place!
  14. I can think of 3+2 examples but not many 3+1. Could they potentially be under license? The prototype Z series had 3+1 but IIRC Sire were threatened unless they modified it.
  15. Are you referring to the truss rod bullet? It was a feature on 70s jazz basses and this looks to be a Mexican reissue.
  16. I believe that would come with an Ernie Ball lawsuit
  17. So as my Fender P 60th Anniversary turns 20 this year. I wondered what other manufacturer birthday basses are in existence?
  18. This would be my pick - no affiliation with the seller. Split coil pickups are quieter than single coil which can hum.
  19. Intonation is down to someone just spending time with a screwdriver and a tuner.
  20. It’s one you know very well!
  21. Same as every year; hope that the opportunity comes up to purchase my dream bass. The big hurdle is it’s too nice for the owner to sell 😉
  22. it looks incredible. If I was to go down the luthier build route again, I know rather than dictate the wood top I’d be enquiring with what they have first. Sometimes they have something extra special that can surprise you.
  23. Interesting to see how there are different products worked on together on the production line. I expected them to work in batches in each stage, ie 100 of product A, then 50 of product B. It also interested me that their most premium guitars relied less on human input and more on robotic. As a consumer it’s normally expected those products would be cheaper.
  24. I agree that Fender will be flexible on demand. They probably made a lot more of the RW flea bass compared to even the Jaco artist one. I’m not sure your definition is wholly accurate. Its interesting if you watch the masterbuild custom basses from Warwick, there is a lot of mechanisation used even on one off custom builds! The point of my question was to define what those large quantities are broken down to. @HeadlessBassist probably hit the mark that the more expensive series are made in much lower quantities yet tend to have a good selection of colours.
