  1. Was going to reply to add to this the obvious reasons why these platforms are not being regulated as much as they should but think it’s going down the politics rabbit hole which will end up with the thread locked. Luckily we can still enjoy watching SBL invite other YouTubers onto their channel for challengers and have the cheek to call them professionals!
  2. Yet sadly I’ve read anecdotes indicating for many years, across many industries, people did.
  3. Calling it out just gets the response of being woke. Abhorrent behaviour and values have been normalised and justified by far right influencers, backed by some of the richest people in the world. My gf has one and I can tell you that anyone who has that little pride in themselves does not clean the car interior well 😂
  4. Like anything, if you want to get on with people you seemingly need to allow them to have opinions and they should be able to accept if you agree or disagree too. Having said that, if the music becomes politically portrayed that way then no way!
  5. It’s no surprise that Ian seems to land the chair for the hottest new shows in town. It’s great for us that we get to see some BTS.
  6. The old school approach is better. Only two words needed for your endearing bad mates:
  7. Yeh was going to say it looks Japanese
  8. I doubt many at all. A bass designed to fit one man’s extremely niche requirements, and its ugly as sin on top of that! Hopefully they’re made to order.
  9. Prize equivalent is 1 set of EB Pino flatwound strings
  10. Keep it, it’s time may come. I had similar with my P bass that was largely untouched for nearly a decade but now is used regularly.
  11. It sounds nice though. I do like the demos AB has on his site.
  12. Yes but if it’s deemed stolen material they don’t have the right to give you that copyright. Much like if you bought a stolen bass from a thief, you lose the bass and money.
  13. Playing a 30 min set with jamiroquai at a French Riviera or Amalfi Coast private pool party with unlimited food and drink included, and unlimited dips in the pool. I would probably do it for free but a hefty cheque would also be nice.
  14. I had a 2000 US DLX Jazz and it was fine with the string thru bridge, but no better than my current Sire. I thought it was 18mm though.
  15. £280 at the bass gallery according to their web page. Not sure I would trust anyone else.
  16. That is the main argument against AI derived “art”
  17. They really turned the American range around post 2012. Totally different to the vintage basses but no less wonderful!
  18. I get what you mean about the first part, but then at the same time if AI were to be influenced by minimal sources it opens it up more to plagiarism. AI and the construct of genre is interesting because I think AI really needs those sort of boundaries and organisation. Yet as we know the influences used in songs make the lines between genres incredibly blurred to the point where it’s almost meaningless!
  19. I’ve missed out on several basses for not much money but was already stretched as it was so it couldn’t happen. I always just hope that one day I will be in the right place right time, but in the meantime enjoy what I have.
  20. I did say at the bottom of my response that it mimics how humans learn. The difference being while we take information a bit at a time, AI can read and digest large volumes very quickly. The legal decision is can tech derived art be classified as art… luckily not my decision to make!
  21. No not always, as we know there are so many variables with the originality of these instruments. But as a general rule of thumb it gives a good idea.
  22. Take 15-20% off dealer price and that’s should be about right for private sale.
  23. It falls under the same argument as artwork, where it isn’t legally clear whether someone feeding AI your copyrighted work for it to regurgitate into something else is an infringement of copyright or becomes their work. It’s harder still because thats what humans do!
  24. It’s the bare neck pocket that confused me, or is 63 before they used the stick to hold the body for painting?
