1. I am currently using an Ampeg V4BH 100W head with an Ampeg 610 Classic cab. This is a great rig, as you would expect but I am considering downsizing to something more flexible to meet my gigging needs, something smaller and lighter. I'm out gigging every weekend in pubs and clubs playing rock and pop covers but also, increasingly, weddings. Some of these can be in quite large rooms with maybe up to 300 guests, while others more intimate with maybe 50 or so. In these cases, a smaller rig would be more suitable. At larger gigs I have also found that I can struggle to be heard against our one guitarist and a hard hitting drummer. So what I have been looking at is downsizing to possibly a small micro amp with two 212 or 210 cabs or a variation on that. I'd like to be able to stack these vertically if necessary and also, the new rig would have to be louder and cut through better than the Ampeg. I have looked at the GK MB800 head with two Neo 212 cabs as well as the TC BH800 and matching K212 or 210. Problem is, I have no local dealers where I can try this stuff out. I'd really welcome any advice and guidance you could give me. Many thanks in advance.

3. Item sold For sale is a Tech 21 Bass Boost Chorus pedal. £110 Free postage This is a fantastic pedal with lots of features and one of the most highly regarded chorus pedals on the market. However, I have found that I just do not use it very often and it's just too good and expensive to sit unused. The pedal itself is in mint condition. Not interested in trades and UK buyers only thanks but keen to get this shfited. Please message me if you need any more information. 4. No the pickups are fine; the pickups were lowered considerably at the E and G string. I've adjusted them so they are nearly flat and the tone sounds cleaner and more controlled. There's plenty of room for yer thumb.
5.
PS - Is the new hardcase stock on these?
I think so although it doesn't state so on the Fender site. I got the same as in the Thomann listing: http://www.thomann.de/gb/fender_mike_dirnt_road_worn_p_bass_rw_2.htm?sid=87b27b81f51a11679a3647d106ed5f8d
6.
Hey mate, what pickup is in this? I have one if the original mike dirnt p basses, this looks Like a massive improvement. The neck on mine was ridiculous so I had it shaved down, and the pickup had a very low output, but did sound really nice. Mine now sports a Quarter pounder P and a jazz bridge instead. Would love to try one of these new ones though!
Its a 59 custom shop pup. Was tweaking it today and have lowered all 4 poles and its a much more balanced tone now. Sounds great. The guitar itself looks very rock n roll and as I said above, any reservations people may have over paying for RW stuff would probably be persuaded by the work on this. The cracking of the paint etc is really impressive. Sorry if I have given you GAS Lots more pics here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/due26j7ddszmkxa/rnkCNAaV2V
7. Must admit though, those pups are <<<LOUD>>>. D string is sounding a bit overpowring. Been tweaking the pup height and think I've got the balance nearly right.
8. Cheers yellow. Hasn't been in the case at all today, just great to look at and play. Roll on next Saturday to gig it again.
9. Well after a few weeks trying to shift my MIA P bass, I eventually got it sold last week and bought this on Thursday in its place. I know the whole thing about relicing/road worn divides bassists but this looks and feels as cool as anything. Really has to be seen to appreciate the quality of the workmanship. Neck is definitely more comfortable than the MIA P and the frets are great, nice and smooth and very similar to my MIA J. The relicing on the hardware is very well done. Like MD says in the Fender video it really is more like a white wash and the grain of the ash comes through very nicely. As far as tone is concerned, its your classic P sound only with more punch and growl. Had to tweak the EQ on my V4BH and cut the mids a bit but overall was very impressive with a nice clang on the low E. A couple of people admired my 'tele bass' and another aspect I like about this bass is that it doesn't look like a gimmicky signature guitar (I don't really care for Green Day, although do like MD's playing). Hard case is very cool too - well constructed, nice little Fender logo and snug fit.
10. Yes there were a number of enhancements - the neck, high mass bridge, tuners etc. I have a 2010 Amer Std Jazz. Superb instrument that is versatile and enjoyable to play with great tone.
11. For sale is a 2008/9 Fender American Standard Precision Bass ** Price dropped to £725 ** Please note that this does not include delivery ** The bass is in excellent condition. There are some light scratches on the pickguard and there is a tiny mark on the end of the headstock but this is almost unnoticable - see photo. The guitar has had very little use. I bought it shortly after getting my Amer Std Jazz but I just prefer the sound of the Jazz and it has been my 'go to' bass for everything since buying it. Olympic white with tort shell pickguard (although have a black pg from WD Music if the successful buyer would prefer) and rosewood neck, with a lovely grain. As the guitar has aged the colour has taken on a creamy colour and looks very authentic. Not only does it look the part but it also plays like a dream, with a lovely satin neck. When I bought it, it had been set up by a professional luthier and the action was quite low. I have since adjusted it, to suit my own style of playing, mainly with a pic. Selling as it just doesn't get enough use and too expensive to be a house guitar. The current retail on these in most cases is over £1150 so this is an opportunity to grab a fantastic guitar at a decent price. Comes with SKB hard case and all the case candy (Fender strap, cloth, case key etc) which has been unused. Would prefer cash as I have my eye on another bass but open to trades as well, particularly 2013 Amer Std Jazz or Mike Dirnt Road Worn P bass. If you need any more info, please ask. Should add that any BC members who live in N.Ireland are welcome to come and try it out. 14. That's great, probably something similar then to the Amer Std I'm selling then.
15. That's the one I'm looking at Lozz.
16. That's cool Billy. Any other observations to seal the deal? Maybe you nip over tomorrow & give it a work out for me - would be much appreciated!
17. Cheers theyellowcar for the response. Any chance you could tell me something about the weight in comparison to other P basses you've played? Can't seem to find a guide weight on the RW anywhere. Thanks.
18. Nice bass. Just have a question about the pickups. I have read on another forum about these being fairly low output and not cutting through in a live setting. Have you found this yourself?
