1.
It was rubbish. And Warwick recognised that and designed the JANII which was even more rubbish. Now we have the Brass JANIII which is a lovely bit of work.
I loved the first thumb bass nut, i could get the strings right down in the nut, just a fraction above the first frett with no buzz, the problem i found with some plastic ( or softer than metal types). if i set (filed) the nut down so the strings sat as said ( just above the first frett ) after a short space of time if you use the bass alot with constant tuning changing strings the strings slowly file the bottom of the nut away and you slowly start to get a buzz from the first frett, i could not find an issue with the just a nut 1, loved the way if the string sat too low in the nut ( or high) it was just a half turn on a fine thred to lower or higher it, perfect. on saying all this my wal has a plastic nut that i have never had to change in 25 years and i use that alot. i spose its all down to what works for us, one mans bla bla bla.
 2. Thought i would add mine. the 91 pino look alike, has the most amazing birds eye neck and super low action, the natural one has a two piece book matched body, and quite heavy. anyone got a white pickup cover for sale ?
 3.
+1 great design, and it also looks very well engineered. I tried the Warwick Just A Nut III on a Streamer and really didnt get on with it. Its best to keep a Ray stock, IMO.
AHH,,,, seems to make some sence now, tho i still like the brass blanc better. the just a nut 1 was far better than the 3 with the individual screw tops, again no need for them to change that.
 4. Anybody got an idea why the new stingray nut is like it is ??? i have just ordered a new neck from MM and it came with this on it makes it almost impossable to replace with a nice brass one or the intonation will be out. ahhhh its all so apparent now !!!£££!!! i cant see any reason why the change was made, other than you will now have to order a new one through MM, i hate it. i can see they are now stepped but there is nothing you would not get on the saddles. i wish they would use the old warwick thumb bass "just a nut 1" that was a perfect design with the strings going over the screw heads set in the brass nut.

 6. I had a bass sent from Germany arrived very well packed, arrived on time only 3 days, and was true to his word, its everything he said it was and more i love it. Oliver is One of the nicest chaps i have never seen !, He was ringing me up almost dayly just to confirm his good intensions and to put me at ease, he is a credit to bass chat, I would trust him 101% with any other transactions in or out of bass chat. Good luck with your band oliver, i will be poping over to catch you live and a few beers soon.

 9.
8!!! thats rude! i have had a lot of basses but a wal is still my top bucket list bass. i heard a band in the early 80`s with a fretless wal and it sounded out of this world. i didnt even play at the time but remember it standing out as an awesome sound. cant see this hanging around long as its very pretty and what with being overhauled recently its got to be as good as buying new. drool drool. pray tell, what is the reason behind the dark one being the daddy?
The daddy, just because im so use to it, the action is ultra low without any clanking, the output is very high for some reason more than most i have tried but very solid sounding in the low mid. so played tight with fingers produces instant "incognito" jamiq or "down to the bone" sounds with out studio gizmos, i dont know how many sound men and other bass players have asked if i use compression. as there is no woolyness at all and the sound cuts right through anything and the slappy sound will pin you to the back wall with out being too loud. i think there are so many ways you can get your sound on a wal. for me the best way is to set the neck ( bass) pickup on about 3 so its deep but tight, then set the bridge (trebble) pick up full on 10, then just use the pickup selector pan pot between the two to act as a bass or trebble boost for each song, works a treat for me.
 10.
u had 8 wals? parden me but how/why??????????? :0)
When i was collecting them i was picking them up for 500/ 700 !
 11.
yew is not a wood you see very often on a bass but it looks bloody awesome! one of the nicest i have seen in a good while. i will have a wal one day! just not this day unfortunately.
Yep bang on 10lb ish 5kg which is light for a wal i had a collection of 8 wals, this is one of the lightest ones i have had, Again right, not many yew wood wals around, and there is some great detail on this that maks it very distinctive, you would spot it a mile away. no neck dive very comfy to play neck is slightly slimmer than my other fretted and my fretless ones.

 13. i use one of these with the swr 6x10 for my bigger gigs and it really is the muts nuts. liked it that much i got an extra fan fitted. great solid clear sounding amp. if you play funk and want them solid notes to jump out, then this is the jobby.

 15. Not the hardest but one that took a long time to get right, and still my fave bass line try it, great sence of achivement when you get it right, that little bit at 1:57 bouncing of the root throws you a bit as its hard to hear whats going on at first, the more you listen the more you find Enjoy.
