1.
I would like to pair up my Neo 210 with a Neo 112 or even a 212, but I am cautious that the Reidmar won't operate at 2ohms. I feel that an email to Ralph @ EBS is on the cards! But, more cabs mean more kit to pack in the car so its defeating the object to have a portable rig and I might as well just take my HD350 and Proline 410.
I know, this is where I feel a bit The whole lightweight EBS amp is geared around 4 ohms whereas the neoline series of cabs (when you want to run 2) is generally geared around 2 ohms (e.g. for the HD350, Fafner, TD660).
 2. Lovely top on that S2. Mmm...
 3.
Oooh now thats nice, and with a classic headstock to boot, not a fan of the headstocks on the other two basses. I was really looking at £800 max so this is bit expensive for me sadly but definitely worth a look, cheers EBS Freak
Yeah, the particularly ming headstock on the KSd really doesn't work on a jazz.
 4. I don't know what sort of budget you are looking at but I would throw the Clover Apeiron Classic 6 into the mix... - I reckon street price circa £1300. (Not necessarily in this finish though!)
 5.
How much??
Let me get back to you. Just need to do some sums.
 6.
Hearsay, though I recall seeing some Level 42 board posts from MK diehards who had ordered them from Fender (lucky as it was a very limited run) and found them to be pretty lacklustre in their build. Tellingly, Mark used them for about 5 minutes and then went onto those GB basses, which sounded crap in fairness. (the Ohne Filtre DVD showcases this dire tone).
Hearsay. Hmm. Case in point. And this is how internet rumours start. Fender builds can be lacklustre in their build anyway, it's hardly limited to just the King signature. The more I read your comments across Basschat, the more I've come to realise that your opinion is based on internet rumours/cliches rather than any real world experience. As for GBs... well, they were going through Ashdowns and like everything, in true chris2112 style, this single recording has become your benchmark for summing up what GBs sound like. Hardly conclusive. Funnily enough, there are loads of people who actually dig the tone on Ohne Filter. Each to their own I guess!
 7.
Would that be 'The Trumpet ' then ? Garry
The Trumpet is class. PS, another vote for iRealb. If you haven't got it yet... stop messing about, just get it!
 8. That's looking to be a very nice job so far.
 9.
It reminds me of the Mark King Fender jazz basses. Only better, without the woefully bendy necks and shoddy fretwork!
Is this experience or hearsay? Im surprised youve actually seen or played one of the 42 MK Fenders.
 10.

Been thinking about this wee beastie... Would anybody be interesting in potentially taking this off my hands?
 11.
We're supposed to stop playing at 10 pm because after that they're filming. One week we went on to 10-15 and there was a complaint. I think we were doing Mustang Sally at the time. So to speak.
...and somebody next door with riding Sally.
 12. What the hell is ohmage?
 13.
The porn studio next door has complained about the noise
Ummm... where do you rehearse....? *whistles...*
 14.
i use superglue on any little nicks in necks. just leave it set for 24 hours.file it flush and wet sand it , then get some compound polish and its done .
Agreed - that's the cheap and easy way to spot fill any thing that doesn't get steamed out.
 15.
I did a lol. Wooten's got me on speed-dial too. "sh*t Joe, I just can't get that rhythm for double thumping, can you help me? We need a study-sesh, post-haste, bro."
^ Ha ha.
 16.
That sounds like dan Erlwine's technique to treat digs, iron or soldering iron with damp tea towel, steam passes into the grain of the wood causing it to swell and 'pop' the dent out again. Never been brave enough to try it. That looks like a sharp dint. Is the lacquer surface broken?
That's pretty much the technique you should use. If you aren't brave enough to do that, some dents will come out by simply holding the neck over a boiling kettle. Best thing to do is to secure a couple of tea towels either side of the dent. Doesn't make sense to get all of the neck subjected to boiling water - only the area you want to treat.
 17. My Status necked jazz. Cool bass but being a four... It doesn't get much of a look in, I tend to stick to fives! It's a nice instrument though and with the matt finish on the back of the neck, it looks (the weave looks awesome in satin) and feels great. Bartolini pickups, Hipshot hardware... through strung. Pretty cool. Does a mean Marcus impersonation - even when passive, like it currently is.
 18.
"No-one has ever attempted anything like this on a guitar before."
Quite. I wonder why that is...?
 19.
Uh oh - better watch out for the Harley riders coming after you Bilbo I was a member of a Harley club in the UK for many years and I've never known so many people put so many miles on their bikes in all weathers. In my experience the riders of Honda Fireblades and Ducati sportsbikes are more likely to be 'fair weather' bikers than the Harley brigade. Of course this isn't to say that quite a lot of all bikers fall into the higher income, middle aged bracket. After all, look at me - a 52 year old, twin Fodera owner plus a BMW K1200GT, Aprilia RSVR 1,000 Factory & a Harley mild custom sitting in the garage
3 bikes sitting in the garage? You don't have much luck... get the mechanic to work on them right away... Twin Fodera? I never knew they made a model with two necks...
 20. Fodera seem to be doing quite well for themselves regardless. God only knows why these threads keep on appearing.
 21. They aren't still going.... are they?
 22. Agreed - I think I first saw that on Wal and thought it was hideous. I suppose the choice of woods determines how obvious it is.
 23.
Looks very similar to an ACG Gallus (sp?) crossed with a Sandberg
Indeed - the Gallus is very similar - the key difference being the inclusion of the sharp edge under the control pots on the ACG.
 24.
Yes I see that too. Bass design is becoming like car design; a big melting pot of generic shapes and concepts.
Very true - the trouble is now, with so many bass designs out there, it's becoming increasingly difficult to come up with something that looks radically different to those basses that have already been created! Originality is becoming increasingly difficult, especially when you have to build in the characterists of what makes a bass balance and comfortable (e.g. strap fixing point and hence usually the top horn, above the 12th fret).
 25. Marleaux, Marleauxs... hmm... what's the plural?
