Going by the wording on the PCB, it looks like this was originally going to be called the Classic 250. Seems like an evolution of the never to reach retail Classic 160 but with an uprated power output.

[/quote] I know, this is where I feel a bit The whole lightweight EBS amp is geared around 4 ohms whereas the neoline series of cabs (when you want to run 2) is generally geared around 2 ohms (e.g. for the HD350, Fafner, TD660).

And this is how internet rumours start. Fender builds can be lacklustre in their build anyway, it's hardly limited to just the King signature. The more I read your comments across Basschat, the more I've come to realise that your opinion is based on internet rumours/cliches rather than any real world experience. As for GBs... well, they were going through Ashdowns and like everything, in true chris2112 style, this single recording has become your benchmark for summing up what GBs sound like. Hardly conclusive. Funnily enough, there are loads of people who actually dig the tone on Ohne Filter. Each to their own I guess!

If you aren't brave enough to do that, some dents will come out by simply holding the neck over a boiling kettle. Best thing to do is to secure a couple of tea towels either side of the dent. Doesn't make sense to get all of the neck subjected to boiling water - only the area you want to treat.

My Status necked jazz. Cool bass but being a four... It doesn't get much of a look in, I tend to stick to fives! It's a nice instrument though and with the matt finish on the back of the neck, it looks (the weave looks awesome in satin) and feels great. Bartolini pickups, Hipshot hardware... through strung. Pretty cool. Does a mean Marcus impersonation - even when passive, like it currently is.
