  1. It's got Dragons Den candidate written all over it :-p
  2. Ha! It just needs to be on a black background with the writing in acid pink!:p
  3. This is all coming along quite nicely!
  4. Just worked up and realised that in fact, I did post this ridiculous dust cover yesterday. *pinches himself* *blinks* *facepalm*
  5. I'm a big fan of Hipshot O Rings. Simplicity of a smooth metal knob with the grippiness provided by the rubber o rings. Look cool in my humble. With regard to knurled knobs, I think the problem with them for me is that there are so many cheap looking knock off examples of them that I have grown to generally dislike them. I absolutely hate chicken head knobs on basses though. What is that about?
  6. Plenty of people have had this idea - the following video may explain why it's not common place.
  7. ... but does he use Rotos on his guitars?
  8. 50 quid would have got you some time with a shrink.
  9. A fool and their money... so, alternative uses?
  10. Fleabag just sent me a pic me - are you Dave Smart of Twin Jet Superstar fame them - why yes, it is me - oh. Ok. As you were.
  11. So defo a speaker killer if you forget to kill the output before you pull the jack...
  12. So which do you prefer?
  13. RH450 and heft. Choose 1.
  14. But what about the little silicon sucker? Surely that's genius!?
  15. Loud, clean and valves. Choose 2.
  16. Just got this through my email... https://www.amplifiercoversonline.com/zencart/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=580&products_id=7373 Seriously?!
  17. Me - Are you Dave Smart, formerly of Twin Jet Superstar? Them - No Me - Oh
  18. And ask him about Twin Jet Superstar. That was him wasn't it?
  19. Hmm. Maybe I have completely the wrong bloke then... or my memory is completely shot!
  20. I've tried to find a pic of him to confirm it's the same guy. Was a big guy I seem to recall - and I particularly remember him for being the first guy I'd seen to use a Rotovibe live. The bass player - tall skinny guy was defo from PMT. I'm beginning to question my memory whether Dave was... The band also had a percussionist. So they were doubly cool in my book.
  21. There used to be a couple of guys working in PMT in Oxford in a band called Twin Jet Superstar - I remember loving the guitarist's playing. Just been googling and it seems that the fella is called Dave Smart. Seems like he's moved on to pastures new and now has a repair business and got something to do with Oxford Guitar Gallery. There you go. The thread has rekindled some blast from past memories for me!
  22. Ah - I've had an issue with Bax in the past also. Ordered loads of Neutrik sockets and jacks for making up all sorts of cables. They all got there in the end. Eventually. Although I was surprised to get the big cardboard box with just one single female XLR end in....(!)
  23. To be fair, for most people, especially on bass, once you have your killer amp sound, you are unlikely to be changing much. On a gig, I have my core sound - easily tweakable per venue... and then fx in the fx slots. In reality, the tweaking factor is not an issue for me - as I am on IEMs. So any tweaking should be at the PA to account for the room, nothing else. I haven't got a local FRFR that I'm using for monitoring purposes - just front of house.
