The nut on my bass needs filing - or replacing with an adjustable nut. First, the angle of the slots in the screws. I assume they're horizontal, which is not the case with a correctly filed nut. Second, unless the screw threads are very tight, there's a possibility of them rattling. Any thoughts, e.g. I worry too much?

I've never given Florence and the Machine a proper listen so thought I'd give their Glastonbury show a try. 15 minutes in and I can't stand her slightly flat vocals any more. Is this a one-off monitoring problem or is she always like this live?
