you can't go wrong with the SR16 as mentioned before. i got one for £20 and i think it's probably one of the best machines out there for the price

probably one of the most underrated players of our time!

i also have one of the larger ones which gets use with the guitar, but the pocket muff really cuts through both with an amp (BXR300) and straight DI to PA. For the money it'll be hard to beat!

that's right - straight out of the box it's perfect. one of my pupils has one, and i have had to severely resist getting hold of one!! initialy i was worried it was a MIM until i played it plugged in!

the balance of the pickups on these is perfect, plus the electronics are wired as two volumes, so even then it wouldn't really be an issue anyway!

try the EHX pocket metal muff- it works really well on bass. gets almost exactly that Cliff fuzz sound. you can find them on the bay for around £35 new, and they are only the size of an mxr pedal!

have you tried the EH micro Qtron? some complain of volume spikes, but i've not experienced it. you can normally find them around the £65 -£70 mark

as a teacher in school and out, i have to be able to tune quickly and accurately without resorting to leads and the like. I have been using the Intellitouch IMT500 for a couple of years. it's quick reliable and retailing for about £20 its great value for money. IMO everyone should have a device like this around for quick checking when a lead/tuner is too much hassle.

this may sound silly, but have you tried Aria themselves? The SB 1000 was reissued a couple of years ago, so they may have or be able to get spares.

i have to agree with Gene Simmons - have you heard some of the lines he puts in to some of their earlier material? he manages to provide just the right line for the song. if you listen to the line he plays in "rock and roll all night", and then realise he sings against it as well! GIT! also i must echo Neil murray - his time in Whitesnake was seminal for me, as it made me realise what an essential part the bass player has in making the song move. his sound was beautiful. It's such a shame that he doesn't get the props he deserves. after all he played with Whitesnake, Sabbath, Brian May, as well as we will rock you! Also i have to add my voice to those suggesting Steve DiGiorgio - what a player! Listen to the first Control Denied album if you are in any doubt! and finally FRANK BELLO

Spectors and Warwicks look alike 'cos they were both designed by Mr Steinberger, I do believe. I'm told warwick ripped off the design, and consequently have to pay a royalty to spector for it's continued use. ....and people whinge about behringer!!
