  1. "Is that TPDT (as in Three Pole Double Throw with 9 contacts on the switch) ?" that's it! "Are there any markings on the poles of the switch (other than just numbers) ?" No numbers, no markings apart from a small indent on one side of the casing. "Do you have a multimeter at all ?" Yes I do!
  2. i just got hold of some tpdt switches, however i can't work out which way up to wire it. is there any way i can tell which way up it (the switch) goes?
  3. TBH i love them. I picked them both up for as song!, but that aside, i played every bass in the shop looking to spend about a grand and walked away with the demonator initially, and then later the ML they are really punchy for passive basses, and play fantastically. (I like a reasonable action with 50 -110 strings) i would definitely replace them if anything happened to them. All i need now is to find hard cases for them!!
  4. Hi just acquired an EHX nano clone, as part of my quest to own every pedal in the world mu hah hah! whilst popping the battery in, i noticed a couple of trim pots inside. does anyone know what they do, as i don't particularly want to change anything inside without knowing what's what! cheers!
  5. i have had pupils perform it for years as part of their grade 8 studies. It shows many techniques, and doesn't necessarily have to be played using the effects either - in fact i generally prefer to play it clean and save the tasty muff + wah work to cliff!
  6. anaesthesia? i used it for an audition once, and was asked once i'd finished if i played anything apart from jazz!?!
  7. please forgive the dodgy pics! from the top left, we have the Ibanez Rd400, next to the Vox White shadow fretless w/ Badass, followed by my De'Armond by Guild Jetstar, and finally in this row my P bass Lyte (around '94 / 95!) In front there is my Ibanez BTB405QM, sitting next to the USA S1 p bass, and next to the Dean Metalman ML, and Metalman Demonator. In the middle of it all is the CH guitars M16 machine gun. Always a hit when i play it in church, and sounds punchy as hell! Also works out fantastically for all of those Steve Harris machine gun type moments!!! Not included in this rogues gallery are my acoustic bass (a 10 year old westfield), and my Dean Pace bass (known as "The Rake" in these parts!)
  8. thanks for that dude. a well rounded review!
  9. i use 50 - 110 an all of my fours, and 45 - 130 on fives. mainly rotos, but occasionally daddys if i fancy a change. I play 95% finger style, a little pick, and i'm a bad slapper!
  10. i thought the Guy Pratt book was ok, i enjoyed the Alex James book, The Slash onewas a great loo reader! i also enjoyed Kiss and make up by Gene simmons, Crazy from the heat by diamond dave lee roth, White line fever by Lemmy, How black was our sabbath, and for a great musically based read try either of Seb hunter's books - Hell bent for leather, or Rock me amadeus.
  11. +1 to the above! avoid the freeport stuff. if you get the 372 system and ew300iem they are only half a unit!
  12. Chris, do you have links to your listings?
  13. we use Li cells in all of our wirelss systems (around 10 -14 at a time!) never had a problem. However they are pretty expensive to buy initially though!
  14. i play Guitar as a secondary instrument - as i teach both as well as being a playing pro, and also regularly attack Banjo, ukelele, as gigs demand!. I have a reasonable ability with keyboard instruments, cello (to Grade 7- as a child), and i also used to play bagpipes! I still get the yearning to have a bash at mandolin though!
  15. that's great mate, cheers
  16. congratulations on great buy then! let us know how it plays etc. when you get it!!
  17. hi... er basically what the title says! i know i'll need 4 jack sockets, and a DPDT switch as well as a box, but that's about it! Any help much appreciated!! cheers
  18. did you have a punt? i can't believe the end price - obscenely cheap!
  19. just a quick point - this is for the london guitar festival rather than the London Guitar Show! I hope theres a chance bass may get at least a mention there!
  20. Don't forget the bass specific Nady system, retailing at £99!
  21. Thanks for that Silent fly, a most informative review!
  22. you should be proud of such a braces of riches - I'm sorry to say my only foray into BCR basses- a Warlock with reversed headstock ended in mine being pinched (I wish i could get it back!!!) Any way congrats, and thanks for sharing!
