1.
thanks, does it have US written on it somewhere? its not in the serial no.
I've got one of these. It will have Crafted in Japan on the base of the neck. The USA reference is simply to the pickup. Some models had Japanese pickups, whereas others have "proper" US made pickups. The latter don't actually have US written on them anywhere as far as I know. They're cracking basses, and that is a very good price, even allowing for import duties etc
 2. I've decided this is overkill for home practice and have decided to get something smaller and simpler. I'm looking for £150 These are actually fantastic amps with lots of very usable tones. This is the 75 watt model and has more than enough volume for small to medium gigs. And it's loaded with more effects and amp models than you could possibly need! Full details are here: http://line6.com/spi...-120-150-hd150/ The amp is in perfect condition and has been used pretty much solely for home practice (my guitar playing isn't good enough for public consumption!). Given the size I would prefer collection, but am happy to meet up half way within reason. I'm based in Nottingham but regularly work in Manchester, Birmingham and Leeds, so delivery in and and around those regions wouldn't be a problem.
 3.
great bass whats the weight
It's around 10lbs, so average for a 70s Jazz. The one you've got up for sale looks fantastic - there's a glut of nice 74 Jazzes on here at the moment!
 4.
Such a nice bass. Are you SURE you don't want to trade with my 1982 pre-Ernie Ball Stingray?
Sorry - already got my ideal Stingray! Although an HH would be tempting...
 5.
Is the original hard case included?
I've not got the original case, but I'm happy to ship it with a generic (non-Fender) hard case.
 6.
It sat in the mix really nicely. Growled when it needed to and sounded great on most songs.
That's exactly what a good Precision does. On it's own you wonder what the fuss is about. But in a live mix it sits perfectly, and suits pretty much anything.
 7.
confused now , is the bass for sale?
Yes, sorry for any confusion! It is definitely back up for sale. I withdrew it a month or so ago, but I've decided to put it back up. Gust0o kindly unlocked the old thread for me, rather than me having to post all of the pictures again
 8.

That Warwick Starbass is stunning. Never seen one in black before!
 9.
You can practice at home until the cows come home and get your parts nailed...nothing wrong with that. But, working on the band dynamic and making sure the band can perform at a good level is very important. That requires time together playing the music and gelling together. There is no substitute for that. This guy will not work out if he can't make rehearsals.
+1. We occasionally rehearse without our singer, but when we do, it really highlights how much we rely on vocal cues in a lot of our songs. And when we had to get a new singer a few months back everything was fine pretty quickly in terms of song structures, but only now are we really getting the feel right. Ultimately, the vocalist is your front man, and you are the music needs to be supporting him/her. Hard to get that right if he/she can't make rehearsals.
 10.
I like the idea of less fret noise etc and presumably they are kinder to your fingertips but do they still sound wooly and dead?
I'd suggest d'Addario Chromes. Less fret noise than with rounds, but still quite bright and punchy. My favourite brand of flats.
 11.
I don't know what the value of this is but its in brand new condition,
I paid £78 posted for mine, on here a few months back, so your current price is a bargain IMO. good luck with the sale
 12. I've had some tempting trade offers on this, thanks,
 13. I use a Mark Bass Jeff Berlin combo with a 2x10 mark bass extension cab. Plenty loud enough for most pubs and clubs without going through the PA.
 14.
Ditto. For me, the world's most horrible instrument.
Indeed. Given warnings received from the mods, I need to be careful what I say, but sadly, preferring Rickenbackers to Fenders is not fashionable on here at the moment. But I guess we have to remember that almost 200 of the "active basschat membership" voted for the Rickenbacker ban, and those of us that love Rics will have to live with that
 15.
I remember you having a Ric in a bag at one of Clarky's gigs. Was that it? Mapleglow? Come to think of it, it might have been Clarky.
I'm afraid it's not fashionable to like Rickenbackers. 200 of us voted for a ban, so the other 26,800 are not allowed to like them any more
 16.
Last Ray I had was an immaculate black 3 eq model. Cost me £600 without even trying to negotiate. Generally black and white go for slightly less than natural. Other colour prices bounce around all over the place but really nice Birdseye and flamed necks can definitely add value
Great price - can you find me one Actually, I paid £650 for my current one (natural with a nice birdseye neck), but that was about three years ago, and I thought that was a good price. You got a cracking deal at £600! I guess it is a buyers market at the moment...
 17. The decal outline is very often visible on early Fenders (pre-early 70s) as the decal was applied over the laquer. But that's not an early Fender, and almost certainly is a Fender decal applied to a copy IMO.
 18.
NBD.. 55 CS I bought from eubassix. Fabulous bass.
That is gorgeous!
 19. Some we do in my covers band Down in the Tube Station - The Jam Time is Running Out - Muse Are you gonna be my girl - Jet She Bangs the Drum - Stone Roses
 20. Bump - happy to consider trades for cheaper basses/guitars with cash my way. I'm always tempted by Fenders, Gibsons, or Rics. Try me!
 21. I think Molan's figure of £650 would be a very good deal, but you can certainly get very nice used Stingrays at around £700 - £800. So I'd agree that one is over-priced.
 22.
I've played a real Ric, it was awful which is a shame because they look awesome.
Strangely, I feel the same about Jazz basses, which I find dreadful to play. But each to their own.
 23.
JH aside, I can't understand why these basses garner such hatred. Bloody loved it me. BTW, I really didn't want to like it, but I did!
I can't help wondering whether some of the haters have actually tried a real Ric. They're great, aren't they!
