1.
The only thing that really annoys me with multi pedals is when you want to just quickly adjust a sound, too many menus.
Have a look at the Boss ME50b. All adjustments can be made quickly using good old fashioned knobs rather than menus! It actually makes it perfect for live use, as it is simplicity itself to tweak settings manually. I'm using it exclusively live. It's much easier to carry round than my old pedal board, and takes up a lot less room on stage.
2.
Feedback is mostly for if a item was not as described, not delivered, late in being shipped or bad attitude of seller/buyer.
With the exception of non-delivery, these are surely all more subjective (and therefore more likely to lead to disputes as to whether negative feedback is justified) than someone backing out of a transaction?
3.
Also bad feedback can be left when someone has outlay-ed money to aquire an item (in the form of courier or travel costs) but the other party pulled out, even then mods need proof of receipt that money was spent and all avenues from both parties have been exhausted to satisfy the aggrieved party.
Fair enough. My concern was where one side had already incurred costs on couriers or travel etc (as per Skankdelvar's example) then the other party pulls out - that seems to be covered by this
4. They're back on at 11.15 apparently. Why they couldn't have stuck the cartoons on first, and then shown the set in one go is beyond me!
5. Shockwave - I take your point, but I've bought and sold loads of stuff on Basschat, and if someone had a history of pulling out of deals then personally I would like to know.
6.
If people only leave positive feedback what is the point of leaving feedback at all???
This. If the feedback threads mean anything at all, then I would want to know if someone had messed another basschatter about on a deal. One of the reasons I buy and sell on here is simply that the experience is so much more positive than ebay. If someone has had a negative experience I think we should know.
7. Watching it and enjoying it a lot. Everything a rock band should be!
8.
Feedback is there for other people to benefit from, not to settle scores. If you'd known he was a timewaster, you'd have had him waste less of your time, so do that favour for the next person.
+1.
9.
You barely notice the mistakes in others at gigs you watch, so don't waste your time imagining people are dwelling on yours
Good advice. And if the mistake is really bad, glare at the guitarist, and most of the punters will think it's him Seriously, learning 40 songs in a fortnight is bloody impressive. I do well to learn one in that time!
10. SR500 has soap bar pickups, I think, so I would guess SR400 too. Sorry - not sure how I posted that twice! Could a Mod remove?!
11. SR500 has soap bar pickups, I think, so I would guess SR400 too.
12. I've just measured the position of the J pickup, as there have been a few queries. It's actually a bit closer to the bridge than on my Classic Vibe Jazz, so its probably fair to say it is somewhere between the 60s position and 70s position. I've edited the posts above to reflect that. Some interest, but still for sale at the moment!
13. We've recently put "Just Looking" by Stereophonics in the set. Seems to go down well for a slowie. I know its already been suggested, but Learn to Fly goes down well too.
14. I didn't say laminate meant it was a bad body. Just that I don't think it's a US Fender, which is the question implied in the OP. If it sounds good, that's fine!
15. I suspect that's actually something like a Columbus copy from the 70s / early 80s. As far as I know, Fender have never produced a laminate body of that type - certainly not from the Corona factory. You can pick Fender neck plates up on ebay for as little as £10.
16. I would really like to shift this before the end of the week, so I've dropped the price to £390, plus shipping. A bargain for a CIJ Fender!
17. It was basically fitted where it looked best! I would say it was nearer the 60s position though. Edit - I've measured it and compared to my Classic Vibe Jazz, the pickup is a bit nearer the bridge. So I would say somewhere between the 60s and 70s position.
18. I've had a couple of PMs querying the nut width on this. I've just got home and checked, and its 40mm.
19.
I was hoping you'd say Glasgow or Southampton to kill my temptation, I'm in Mansfield. Buggar.
Well, when I said Nottingham, it's actually Kirkby in Ashfield - so 15 minutes from you! You're welcome to have a no-obligations look...
20. I'm based in Nottingham, although am regularly in Birmingham, Manchester and Norwich and happy to meet up within an hour or so's drive of any of those places. I'm not sure of the age, and will check the serial number when I get home tonight. I bought it on ebay, and from memory it's around 10years old. Edit - just checked on line. The serial is O followed by 6 digits, which apparently dates a CIJ at between 1997 and 2000. So a bit older than I thought. Practically vintage in fact
21. I'm selling my modified Fender CIJ 70s reissue precision. The bass and hardware are all original, except that it has been fitted with an EMG P/J set. On the plus side, the EMGs sound fantastic. The P sounds like a good traditional P pickup, but with a bit more clout. The J gives some nice Jazz tones. And the two equally blended is my favourite setting - effectively a P tone, but with a tighter bottom end from the J. The pickups are active, and run off a single 9 volt battery. A battery compartment has been added at the back of the bass for easy access. There is no on board pre-amp - the controls are tradition V/V/T, with a side jack added. It is fitted with schaller strap locks. This bass plays like a dream and has been my main gigging bass for years. Which leads to the down side - it has the battle scares to show for it! It has acquired a fair few scratches over the years, and three or four larger dings and marks. The machine heads are original and although not exactly tarnished, are a bit duller than new. I've tried to show all that in the pictures, but if you are looking to buy a cosmetically perfect bass, this is not it! On the other hand, it is genuinely roadworn! A couple of other points. The jack plate fits snuggly, but there is a very small gap in the routing at the top edge, which I've tried to show on one of the pictures. And the final bit of character - the tone knob is slightly different to the two volume knobs (although you have to look closely!). I'm only selling as I have just bought another P/J Precision on here, and can't justify having four Precisions! It's an overused phrase, but I will genuinely be sorry to see it go. Price is tricky given the cosmetics, and the mods, but I would be happy to take [s]£450[/s] £390, ideally collected.
