  1. As far as a programme is concerned, I don't think it's absolutely necessary to organise an entertainment programme, especially as this would be the first Hampshire Bash. The SW Bash has relied on @Phil Starr to provide a floorshow in recent years. The SE Bash has been able to call on some high profile players to give a talk. There might be a player based in Southampton who could give a talk or demonstration. Inviting a commercial entity like a shop to attend could also work.
  2. Who do they recommend?
  3. I agree with @PaulThePlug The usual place for coil to go open circuit is on one of the leadout wires to the bobbin. If the wire is broken on one of the windings on the outside of the coil or, more commonly, on the leadout of the outside wire to the bobbin, it's fixable. So, it's worth checking where the break is. It will need a rewind, however, if the break is on the leadout wire from the inside of the coil.
  4. The first thing to say is that there is noticeable HF rolloff on the recording compared with the live sound. Also, the bottom end was very dependent on where you were standing in the room. I initially stood a few feet to the right of the camera and everything sounded boomy. Once I realised I was standing in a node, I moved back a bit and the balance was better, although still not great. On the first track, the 310 system sounded very spitty and edgy - unpleasantly so. However, this is not reflected in the recording - nor is it how I remember hearing the 310s on previous occasions. The 745 seemed to reproduce the attack and body of the guitars better than the other systems, but the vocals sounded more natural through the Evox. I heard an annoying chesty resonance on the 745s during the demo that I didn't hear on the recording. The guitars and vocals sounded thin on the Wishbone Ash track through the 310 system. The 745 sounded more integrated than the others and, again, reproduced the guitars with more body and attack. I couldn't listen past the boom on the Evox on that track, but it did manage to reproduce the gnarly tonality of the bass guitar better than the others. My takeaway from this is that, despite the benefits of the bass and top cab configuration, it's not easy to get the balance right and very easy to end up with a sound that overemphasises the bass.
  5. Ooooooh!😁
  6. I'm not quite sure what this bass face is saying. 😀
  7. Here's the 250W model from the new BlueLine range of LFSys bass cabs. Plus a bare cab showing the interior details, with the crossover.

  11. I'm loving the TE1200.
  12. Ah, OK, John, thanks. I'll see if I can get rid of the largest ones.
  13. Can't you up my allowance, @Woodinblack, you being an administrator and all? I think most of the photos I've posted here were on the cab build threads years ago.
  14. I've reduced my photos to under 200kB but am getting a message saying "1 file would exceed the total allowed size of 22.443kB, and was skipped". So I can't post any more.
  15. Another superb Bash organised by Mike and family. Many of the regulars were there, along with a few new faces. Here are some photos. They're a bit random, I'm afraid. A bit quiet here. I think @Phil Starr must have been giving his speaker building talk.
  16. Welcome to the club, @BlueMoon!
  17. He did a really nice playalong of Rabbit. There were some very tasty licks in there if I remember correctly.
  18. Here's your cab being finished off right now, @eude.
  19. The 8-ohm version is the only one available unless you're a manufacturer, I'm afraid, @SimonK. The only 16-ohm driver I can find that would work is the Eminence Basslite 10. I'd be reluctant to use that personally because it has a nasty resonance at around 1.5kHz that will tend to dominate the sound - based on the info in the spec sheet rather than experience in this case. Faital Pro make some decent 16-ohm tens, but nobody stocks them in the UK and you'll have to order them specially.
  20. Yes, it's not great. Too dark. Also, avoid the SPB-3 is you want a realistic Precision tone. The SPB-1 has always been my go-to Precision pickup. It sounds wonderful and I can't imagine anything bettering it. Unfortunately, it's a bit pricey and I don't doubt there are cheaper options that sound just as good.
  21. A pair of Celestion Pulse 10s will work in your cab and is likely to be an upgrade to the original drivers.
  22. I'd love to attend and make a weekend of it. Everyone should support these Bashes.
