1. No pics as I can see... sorry, am I missing something?
2. Removed an old link and put my current one here to save you time...
3. A video with a Les Paul and Esquire(single pickup tele) jamming together - a fairly good comparison between the two tonally. *warning* Phil X and Chappers from Aldertons content.....
4. As Lozz said above - If you have a Strat already, then a Les Paul type would give you more variety of sound over a tele (in comparison). I can highly recommend the Rally Les Paul - made by the same factory that turns out Epiphones. Get one before Gibson waves the lawsuit.... Comes with a set neck, pckups that are way better than i expected, real flame maple cap , great fretwork (only needed polishing) and was set up ready to go.. It's that good that I'm selling my Gordon-Smith and using the Rally instead... the best bit?.... I paid £139 new for it! And yes, they do them as right handers! Off to blast out Parisienne walkways through a valve amp now...
5. The headstock decal has been applied in the wrong place - copy imho...
6. Not a fan of stickers then - to each his own... I was thinking that there is no point in trying to refinish an old ply piece of japcrap - may as well embrace the 'turdiness' instead of trying to polish it.

Free VSTs
Melda Productions has got a whole load of Free VST stuff, including a Drum sampler. Both x32 & x64 bit. Go get............... http://www.meldaprod...freevstplugins/ Garry
I really want to use the Melda stuff - they just shut Reaper down every time I try to load one.....
8.
ho right......I may replace then just to make it look a little neater, I was thinking it looked a little featureless
In fact. I just treated myself to a cheapie LP - no guard as standard....
9.
Some of those Hondo les pauls (and I've gone through a fair few) have some utterly lovely Di Marzio pickups in them. Which is why I get through so many, cos I keep buying them, nicking the pickups and using them in Epiphones (which are nice guitars with sh*t pickups) It is bound to be ply under there, there are very few non-ply hondo's out there.
Sounds like the pickups may be keepers.... If you are getting no sound at all from amping up - the wires at the jack are a favourite suspect. Four screws to undo to check....
10. Only 2 screws to hold an LP scratchplate - and they stick out from the body. I've seen quite a few removed to suit the owners taste.
11.
Will post some pictures tomorrow, it's a bright yellow colour, which part of me would love to change but I'm worried about stripping it down. Cheers guys..... as i say I've never done anything like this before. Because I'm a soft hearted git a big part of me wants to put a nice neck on it & make it a really nice guitar but because i know naff all about this kind of thing I'm gonna go for the easier option.
You'll struggle to find an aftermarket bolt on Les Paul Neck - even then the quality of the body doesn't warrant this imho... If you don't fancy a refinish - how about ratting it with a stickerbomb finish?
12. Nitromors (if it'll touch it) and sanding (lots of this).... fill any blems>high build primer> top coats>laquer. My mate (Rejectfly) has just stripped back the Pink B.C Rich Eagle bass he got from the forum adds here. Back to bare wood in two evenings with sanding alone...
13. As I remember the Hondo's were ply bodied but quite useable. Might rule out a natural finish
14. Yeah do it! Go to Guitarfetish and order everything you need at a nice price, grab a soldering iron and a few basic tools and create.... I have a leftybody Strat with RH maple neck loaded with 2x p90's and a lipstick in the middle position, quality pots, jack and wiring. Cost under £100 for every thing (including the body and neck from the bay in at £45). It rocks! /Mick/bitza.jpg"]
15. Reaper's compressors are very excellent at clean, transparent type of stuff, for sure - I'm also experimenting with the likes of Molot and Density3 for character/colour. And yeah I love a shiny new toy! Plugins are great as the free ones tend to be really good these days - much better on the wallet than GASsing for Basses and Guitars.
16. I have a cheap pair of 205's - they sound good and survive repeated abuse. No complaints here....
17. Great job, as above on balancing levels... for grittier bass you could duplicate the bass track and treat that with a NoAmp or B.O.D type vst - then mix it in low and bring it up until you get enough dirt, while still having a good clear bass track to punch with. http://www.theserinaexperiment.net/software.html B.O.D http://www.mokafix.com/noamp.html NoAmp Edit for linkage .
18. And Bootsy's reverb ,delay, comp,exiter etc,etc
19. Using it on every track of 'Stripers BC mix..
20. Thanks RS, I uploaded a mix to soundcloud in wav format previously. I didn't really want soundcloud to ''process'' my final mix render ( rendered to mp3 @ 224 VBR).... Anyways, Hobson's choice leads me to SC again - but it hasn't killed it totally, so here goes... https://soundcloud.c...gs/bc-mix-final
21. another failed try... I don't really want to use soundcloud for mp3's as I'm under the impressiion it will compress it again when I upload, I currently have the file on my ISP webspace but can't seem to link to it - any other suggestions?
22. looking for a free file host for the mp3 version of my mix... any ideas peeps?
