  1. Reaper is a great place to start with video...
  2. Lovely... very relaxing. Sounds good on the bluetooth speaker and laptop here, I will check it out on monitors in the studio later..
  3. cool as.. enjoyed muchly. thats a lot of video/audio to sync and mix... good job!
  4. Wow.. 20 second set up! Gonna have to try amplitude again.. looks like it could help in the search for a decent bass vst. Vocals sound fantastic, considering the phone mic/ room acoustics, etc - the fx are a bit heavy for my taste, still stunning tho'...
  5. Superb! Bass tone is just glorious on my monitors...
  6. So.... after spending the whole of last week mixing/mastering this one track, I'm putting it up here.. Written and arranged by my talented and wonderfully lovely wife - ( with a little help from myself). Bass is a Harley Benton PB50 with old rounds on... # In her words... this is a new mix of a dusty track from a good few years ago. it marks an aniversary of a personal loss and the feelings attached. in this current situation we felt it may help others in their own journey we hope you like it too.

  8. That would be better, but they are just on/off with adjustable switching speed for pitch and toggle/momentary for mod - enough to get going with...
  9. pitch bend +/- and mod buttons to the left, below octave +/- and sustain... work well too.
  10. I use one of these, lurks... 35 notes on amazon.
  11. Sorry Bard, only just seen this.. ( no notification came up), will check out price and pm you...
  12. Just don't get that with my HB pedal, example vid needed...
  13. I have the Harley Benton copy - haven't tried bass through it, but I'd say it was as quiet as the Fender amp that I often use it instead of... Maybe yours didn't like the PSU you were using or something.
  14. F###in' excellent! Really lifted my spirits after I just got back from another hospital visit, holding my wife writhing in pain, sp#wing bright green matter due to her f###ed pancreas... As you said , what else can you do under the circumstances. Thank you, you're an inspiration!
  15. Got hold of the cheapest Behringer to try ages ago... tried different valves in it (including a Mullard), just to give it a chance to sound decent. You can certainly alter the tone with different valves, but I didn't like the sound of it whatever I loaded into it....
  16. Basic easy to understand starter video.... (edit: didn't notice sexist banter at beginning - please skip to 0.07 to miss it)
  17. Left handed Tanglewood, Solid Mahogany top and back, discreet B Band electrics with volume control just inside soundhole. In excellent condition.Well setup and plays beautifully... just fitted new GHS silk and steel strings..
  18. Thank you, and yes very, very rare to see a lefty- rarer still one up for sale ....
  19. After much deliberation, I am letting go of my faithful Jazz... I bought her as used from a Northampton music shop late 80's , and was my only bass for decades.Has some dings and scratches but really nice condition for her age. The original pickups started to get a little less bold, so the Duncan Designed pickups were a quick fix for an upcoming gig(but the originals will come supplied). Beautiful figuring on the maple neck and perfect frets. Wearing Ti flats and comes with a road worn homemade case. Rare opportunity to grab a quality vintage lefty...
  20. That's the beauty of this.. works for any string gauge you want to put on ( the bottom of the slot and string is a constant) - I set up basses like this too .
  21. forgot to mention.. with light strings the nut has to be spot on - or there will be zero chance of staying in tune at the lower frets. The following method has served me well for years... 1) fret string a the 3rd fret 2) tap string onto the top of the first fret (the wire itself), you will almost certainly feel the string move ( too much clearance) before you hear a metallic click. 3) very carefully lower nut slot (keeping the break angle) until you feel no movement but you still hear a click as you tap (any further is to far and will fret buzz). Err on the side of caution here until confident. 4) repeat until all strings are at optimum.
  22. That looks fantastic! Get him playing some power chords through an overdriven amp and you'll have him hooked... Easy cheezy like rhythm parts for Anarchy in the UK,Teenage Kicks and Sin City to get him going - play along to help out too, if you can.
  23. 10's on a les paul will feel like 9's on a fender.. i find that I need 10's to get any chance of chords without them squirming around too much due to the lower tension.
