  1. Pretty much where I'm at. Some covers we do I'm really not fussed about but the band are there to entertain so it sort of goes with the territory. Thankfully I also play in an originals band so have the ying and yang thing to balance it all out.
  2. Or this for that matter.
  3. Whoa , didn't see this coming.
  4. For sale is my Fender Original P bass pickup, an accurate reproduction of a 1962 Precision Bass Pickup with the copper shielding plate earthed to the pickup and thus to the jack socket earth. This classic split-coil humbucking pickup delivers powerful bass and clear high-end. Enamel-coated magnet wire for warm vintage tone Flush-mount pole pieces for even string response Alnico 5 magnets for more focus and enhanced dynamics Period-correct cloth output wire and fiber bobbin Includes pickup screws and springs £50 including P&P to UK mainland A well-regarded upgrade delivering the classic P bass punch, with plenty of positive comment on the web. The pickup has been working away in my P bass for a couple of years and is in full working order with all the cloth insulated wiring in place. For sale as I have decided to refit the original item to restore the bass to full original condition prior to sale. Let me know if have any questions or would like to see any other detailed images. Thanks for looking.
  5. Hi folks I have a set of four tuners that came from an old Greco right-handed P bass (not the original fit items btw). The have a nice aged patina to them that looks to be authentic rather than 'created.' Each tuner weighs 87g and has a post diameter of 13.9mm or 9/16". Happy to do full measurements for you. £25 posted to UK mainland Thanks for looking and here are some pics. Please let me know if you'd like to see anything in more detail:
  6. Hi folks For sale is my MIJ Boss BF-2B bass flanger one of the original MIJ versions. It is in full working order but is definitely road-worn. I no longer have the box or leaflet but the latter is easily available on line. Looking for £85 inc. P&P to UK mainland Here are some pics. Let me know if you'd like to see any other details. Thanks for looking.
  7. Here we go peeps, all put back together. Pleased with the results and the bass plays nicely.
  8. Well, a bit of a story. I managed to track down Mr N as the owner of some pickups from a vintage bass that I was looking to restore to original condition. Dave very kindly went on a hunt for them, was happy to donate them and would not accept any payment and included some bits and pieces foams etc. to help. What an amazing guy and a real credit to this wonderful place. Thank you so much.
  9. Personally I can't wait.
  10. Of course. Should be finished with the work in a few days and will post some pics then.
  11. Thanks, very pleased with them tbh. Also thanks to this brilliant community for the ideas and suggestions.
  12. Project update. Some bushings arrived this morning and they slot in nicely. I'll wind a bit of tape around them to make the fit a bit tighter but otherwise, and in the absence of the real thing, seem to be a good compromise.
  13. Haha, thanks will invest in a pair of those right away. Takes the fun out of it though, although I can now annoy Mrs ead by randomly measuring stuff around the house. Every cloud....
  14. Thinking about it though, the current bushing is a very loose fit into the headstock and the tuner post also has plenty of play too so might give it a go. Worst case I could try a couple of standard offerings for a few squids first.
  15. Sadly not Matt. I have my Dad's old micrometer screw gauge but it would need calibration and I don't know how to do that.
  16. Or possibly these: https://www.mooreinternational.co.uk/Products/flanged-bushes/QOIAMF101310
  17. Just found these little beasties that might do the trick: https://simplybearings.co.uk/shop/p142858/FMB1009D-Flanged-Wrapped-Steel-Plain-Backed-Bush-10x12x9mm/product_info.html
  18. Thanks for all of this, most helpful and I will investigate further. I would indeed like to keep the tuners and work out something for the bushings if I can't find anything.
  19. Here are some pics of the various bits as requested.
