1.
Hey, I've never pretended to be anything but a total fool. I stand by my dancing
I'll delete the post for 3 Mika tickets or a bottle or Irn Bru next time you're in Glasgow! Best of luck with the sale - it's a cracker!
2. Got a shot of one of these in the old Sound Control in Glasgow and it was a peach. Mind you, Jimmie should be banned for sartorial piracy!
3. Looks stunning.
4. My school got some P-bass Westfields last year and it made me get my FEnder Jazz professionally set up they were so good in comparison.
5. Sting is a great bass player in the McCartney mode. His lines never overwhelm the song and he's just as happy hitting the root if it suits. One's that always get my interest are St Augustine in Hell, Love is Stronger Than Justice and Every Little thing She Does Is Magic...they sound simple but you better be awake. Remember, he's singing at the same time!
6.
I do the shows for free and get paid to kill 21 hours a day.
What a quote - as a teacher I'll have to use that! I've also seen him live with Collins and it was difficult not to spend all your time honing in on the big ZZ Top reject! I think he used a Steinberger a lot in the show but all that spicy food must have helped cos he was sh*t hot! If you're looking in Lee - have a respectful middle finger back right at you!

REally sorry to hear this - RIP Si and God Bless your family.
8. It's the only bass i would trade my streamer for - stunning, Have a free insurance scam car crash.
9. Really cool looking with the black s/plate - well done!
10. To put my cards on the table. I honestly got into bass because of JJ Burnel. I can't think of anything more sleazy (and nice) than the black P-bass with maple neck getting played by the low end ninja in his leather jacket. (I know he's moved on to Shuker!) Trouble is, I love the growl of a P-bass but I find the one's I'ver had or played inconsistent. I also feel the width is too wide so I prefer the Jazz board. After JJ, I heard Jaco and the game endeth. If you asked me for my favourite bass sounds they would be: The Raven - Stranglers Jaco on Shadows and Light live A lot of Geddy Lee stuff such as Freewill So basically, this is a nice fishing thread to see everyone's opinions on the merits of the legendery plank!
11.
Strange how the snob thing rubs off on people too. I once had someone approach me after a gig to tell me how much he enjoyed the band, but that really I should try to save and buy a Fender. I just smiled knowingly and disregarded everything he'd just said. I was playing my Wal Custom at the time. I've heard other folks have similar experiences.
Get rid of that heap of sh*t mate and buy a Fender!
12. If Leo hadn't invented the electric bass, does anyone really think it would never have happened? Interesting argument.
13. Just wondering. If all the fancy basses on the go just now were what we were used to and a wee guy in California called Fender introduced his 'Precision Bass'. What would you honestly say about the shape, weight, balance and simplicity? Bringing it up because I hear a lot of guys just saying 'you can't beat a Fender' when they have not really tried anything else. I also think I'm a wee bit of a guitar snob but that's another question.....
14. Yes - thanks - read BGM - it gives a really favourable review.
15. Sorry lads - go on the link as it was the other bass that was reviewed - can't get the image to post.
16. Reads like the Church of the Latter Day Bassists.
17. Anyone got experience of these? Rees Really good write up in this months BGM. Allegedly very light.
18. That's a stonker!
19. Cheers everyone - more pics though!
20. OK guys! Give me your Warwick adoration and frustration stories. Got a streamer recently and am looking forward to giving it yahoo! Really impressed in the house and looking forward to letting rip. Am I correct or is it all hype? Guy Pratt - stay out of this, you play Fenders!
21.
Well Merello, there`s one way to find oot. Go and see him at the Fringe and ask him. I was a bit doubtful myself at first but what the heck, I am now a believer!! Jez
Let's get a bus going and see if he's wearing a BassChat t-shirt!
22. When he says mint, I can assure you it is.
23. Firstly, I'm not saying much because I've heard next year's tour is called, LOST IN WEBBASS! Guy gets hot and bothered on the internet with weird posters on BassChat! It is all about the weird sycophancy and requests of posters on BassChat. How they ask him technical questions like, 'Yeah Guy! But when you say the flanger was set between 3 and 4, was it nearer 3 or 4, like 3.25 or 4.75?' Secondly, I once pretended to be the ghost of Elvis Presley for 9 months on a 'King' forum and it only taught me how gullible people on t'interweb are, so until I feel Guy's right and left index fingers in my ears I refuse to believe!......... :brow:
