I turned up one place and the promoter said "A what, A P A? What's that needed for? Don't the singers bring their own?"
Awesome! Hahah. I've managed to avoid any quite this bad recently but it's happened before. Best one was a brand new venue (ended up being open for 2 weeks total) that was literally a tunnel the width of 2 guitar cabs and a bass cab. Drummer had to go in front with everything piled up on top of the cabs. We ended up taking up over half the room and being told to turn down so much we couldn't hear anything except drums, anywhere. Vocal mics hat to be taped to the roof and hung down for the singers. Then at the end of the gig they offered to sell us the recording of the show for £50!!!
Yeah, I which MXR did something like that for bass with the colour button, for a fraction of the price of the M80
To be fair, any decent DI is going to be pretty much the same price as a second hand M80 really.

There is one DI that is just an amp sim and nothing else, but it's a Beh****r. The red one they do.
Cheers dude... The Devi Ever pedal has done the job the Fuzz Hugger did whilst saving precious space! Loving the glitchy side of it too... Working a treat!
The glitchy ones are the best. Currently sending the ABsynth into a Catalinbread Teaser Stallion with both on glitch/feedback modes and letting them fight it out. I can play songs without even touching the strings! Haha. Cheers for the trade!
It's a Devi Ever Soda Meiser
Hope you're enjoying it. Probably gets some pretty good noises for D&B actually. That board looks hella fun too!
-
Cheers mate. Returned.

Traded an ABsynth for a Soda Meister. Arrived two days after the deal was made, great communication and an excellent "transaction". Cheers Shep!

I'm also interested in anyone's knowledge on this as I'm in pretty much the same situation.

Tried both suggestions and no luck. Leaving the volumes down wouldn't really be an option anyways as I got this head so I could use two different channels with two different instruments. It's definately just the ch2 comp causing the problem as I can max the gain on both channels with no distortion if the comp is off.
Hey folks, I'm looking for opinions about our P.A. setup. Here's what we have at the moment.... http://www.dynacord.de/en/products/7/1/1/7_powersub315.html Also we have the passive sister of this sub, which means each sub is getting 500 watts. (all powered from the 2K dynacord amp in the DLITE 115 sub) My first question is: Is it ok to clip this amp? I find that our set-up is loud enough most of the time, but in the big rooms, to get the volume I want I need to clip the amp. It's only the sub that is clipping, not the tops. And it's only clipping on the kick drum notes. If it's safe enough to clip this amp a bit, then I don't need to beef up the P.A. Wadda you reckon? Does anyone have any experience with DYNACORD amps like this? Jesse
Generally clipping the amp is bad. You shouldn't be TOO damaging running it like that but it may wear the system out over time. If you've got a graphic eq over the system try pulling out some of the lowest frequencies (you can probably roll off everything below 31.5 at least) as those speakers wont reproduce them to a great degree anyway. This way you are only sending frequencies that your speakers can actually reproduce, thus giving you more headroom.

Right, so I just purchased a Metro and it seems there is something wrong with the compressor on CH2. Setting both channels the same everything works as it should but whenever the comp kicks in on Ch2 it distorts quite badly. I can crank the gain right up on CH1 and it will get rediculously compressed with the compression light on solidly but with no distortion. If I turn the comp off i can crank the gain right up and no distortion, so it must be comp causing the problem. I've tried changing the tube inside but that didn't solve the problem. Is this what it's meant to do? Is there any way to adjust the compressor internally? Any other way to solve it?

Ashdown ABM 300 Evo II SOLD Unnamed 2x12 cab, flightcased I don't know anything about this really, looks a bit like a Marshall 1922, very sturdily made. However I THINK it may be a bass cab as it is ported along the bottom. Unfortunately I know no more I'm afraid. Has "The Bogus Brothers" sprayed on the flightcase so it's been around a while. ON EBAY NOW, HERE. VHT 2x12 Cab Celestion vintage 30s, has pop out casters and a makeshift cover made from an old marshall one cut to size. Almost identical to a Mesa 2x12. Best sounding and most portable guitar cab I've seen. Looking for £280 or offers? Orange Tiny Terror Not convinced I want to sell this yet. Very loud for a guitar amp the size of a toaster. Gain Tone and Volume controls, switch for half power. Comes with official Orange case, and box and manuel. £250 Offers on everything. Trades possible but im not looking for much at the moment. Shipping not included I'm afraid.
