1. +1 on the Mighty Mite neck, I just finished building my first project P Bass and am still really pleased how it ended up - it sounds huge! I did take my time in setting up the bass, had to file the nut a fair amount to get a decent action but it was well worthwile doing and is a dream to play.
2. Just spotted this thread ( hence the pm Kev)! I reckon I shall pull the trigger on a Dualiity today, just depends on how something I'm watching turns out on Evilbay. I find the Doom is a bit of a disappointment and am always running it alongside some other dirt pedal to get what I want from it, although I find it turns into a different beast at gig volumes and can get some thunderous tones from it? Had a TAFM and sometimes wish I hadn't moved it on, fave fuzz pedal for me is a tough call, loving my grey Stache but the Prescription Electronics Depth Charge is a permanent fixture and has been for the last 2 years now. Think the Duality sounds similar - probably why I'm so keen to get one. 😃
3. Richard very kindly helped me out with a 3PDT switch for my Grey Stache - top guy to deal with folks! Cheers Richard!
4. Well I think she's hot.....and she plays bass!
5. '69 Jazz This has had a refin at some point in it's life - was originally Sunburst finish as I could spy a little burst when I had the neck off.

Cool! I'll send Protium a pm - need to fix this as it's probably my fave fuzz pedal ever - and i have a few! Once again, thanks to everyone who's offered advice - much appreciated!

That sounds like a plan - cheers! How about switch quality? - I'm quite tempted to take Protium up on his offer a blue switch for a few quid if they're reliable? (I have to say this is the first time I've had a switch pack up on any of my effects pedals so i guess they're reasonably reliable? Just didn't want to be faced with replacing it again in the near future).

Thanks for the help so far guys - much obliged! I've just got home and taken the back off to find it is indeed a blue switch with 9 pins on it - thing is it now looks a bit of a daunting job to change it....I guess I'd be better making a rough sketch as to what wire goes where and maybe to unscrew the fixing on the front of the enclosure/switch to gain a bit better access to the switch inside the enclosure (IYKWIM)? Although then the switch be floating around in space? Any advice for a bit of a noob to this sort of repair? I hasten to add I'm not too bad with the soldering iron and have soldered in pick ups/preamps before now - just this looks a little bit fiddly and all the wires (8 of the little buggers) are green! Regarding the quality of the switch - what would you guys recommend? Edited for typo

I guess this isn't strictly the right place to post this query, however knowing how helpful the BC community can be... I've got a Grey Stache and the main on/off (latching) switch has packed in (so replacing it will be a bit of DIY project), I was wondering if some kind soul may post a link to the type of switch I need to order/replace it with? Thanks in advance!

Kev's Feedback

Bought a Proton Filter from Kev - such a straightforward and easy transaction! Item arrived very quickly too and was exactly as described/well packed - a great guy to deal with and would definitely deal with again.
12.
I love the DB 112. 2 x DB112 doesn't hurt your back.
+1 Around 7 years ago I was rushed into hospital unable to move - 3 discs had prolapsed in my lower back - too many years of playing rugby and also lifting (2) 4x10 Trace Elliot cabs in and out of my car so, inevitably I was forced to downsize. I purchased some MarkBass cabs/F1 head which I used for around 6 years. Earlier this year I was hit by a serious bout of GAS and decided that I wanted a more substantial rig again, so I bought a DB750 and a pair of DB112's - the cabs are comfortable for me to carry (I can manage one in each hand if need be), the head is a bit lumpy/awkward but well worth the effort as it sounds immense. I'd love another 4x10 (or two!) but commonsense must prevail - I've never yet been left wanting more from this rig - it's just great.
13. Cheers for all the positive comments guys! I'm thinking I may try another project - perhaps a P/J config? Never tried one but have always fancied one.
14. Cheers guys - I'm truly gobsmacked how good it sounds! It's definitely a keeper for sure.
15. So I've always had a preference to playing a Jazz Bass since my late teens, but over the years I've often been tempted by (and owned one or two) a nice P Bass, despite however many I've tried, I've never really been happy with them when gigging as I've found more often than not they get lost in the mix? So I thought I'd gotten to grips with the dreaded GAS, but here's my latest, self build P Bass. Warmoth Standard P Body, Mighty Mite P neck with Fender waterslide decal, Fender tuners with extender, Badass II bridge, DiMarzio P pickups (had these laying around for a while waiting for a project), CTS pots, Switchcraft jack, Rotosound RS66LD 45 - 105, Dunlop Straplocks. This was my first self build project, I gigged it last night and it sounded way better than I thought it would, I'd expected to play maybe a handful of songs with it and then reach for my trusty Jazz, but it was an absolute gem to play and certainly didn't sound muddy - although with the tone control wound off it certainly can. I did have to fettle around with the nut - needed quite a bit of filing to get the action to a decent level, but on the whole the set up was quite straight forward and certainly worth it. Definitely re-kindled my interest in P's now.
16. Just bought a Badass II from Alan - another straightforward deal!

20.
Made a couple of changes this weekend; changed out some dirt in the lower left corner (Solid Gold FX is new, Cusack Screamer Bass replaced a Wampler Euphoria in the Wonderlove loop) and swapped places on the Suhr Buffer (now first) and [sfx] Micro Thumpinator (now last).
Nice tidy board dude - looks good.
