4.
mmm...I don't know a) and I'm certainly not up for b. It's not arriving in the back of a Hercules is it??
Hercules ? a carrier pigeon could probably manage it.
  5.
Ive not used this for a couple of years so thougt ti might as well get rid of it. Its the one with the Big bottom tone section and it really does work. There is an on line demo here 1402 demo. Its a bit scratched but in perfect working order. I don't have the box but might be able to find the manual. looking for £50 ONO posted to UK mainland Open to offers of a Tech 21 VT Bass in part exchange (cash your way of course) but nothing else. Cheers.
got one of these, great pedal ! same price i paid. i used it first to enhance a small cab, and now i use it for a bigger setup. it works in both environments as a 'warm' boost for me.. so bump.

  7.
Hi there, just signed up to the forum to let you know that this is a scam. I've had identical emails sent to me over the past couple of days. Might be worth letting everyone else on the forum know about this, and likewise, any other musicians you know to prevent them from getting ripped off by this "James Langdon" fellow. Andy The Forty Fives www.thefortyfives.co.uk
Nicely, hopefully a MOD might see this and find an appropriate place for warnings like this..
Yep, mine's on 95% of the time, if not more. It won't do fuzz however, it's a preamp/DI/overdrive/EQ pedal, not a fuzz.
same for me. use it to boost pedals with weak outputs or just as a d.i. if you want fuzz or distortion, look elsewhere.
  9.
Just had these two emails today: Hello, My weeding is on the 26th of March and I would love the band to play. Get back to me if there is availability. Thanks James L****** to which I replied tell me more.... Hello, I am currently not in the country. I want to hire your band for our wedding on the 26th of March 2010 and will be having nothing less than 100 guest. The band would play for about 6 hours, from 12:00PM to 6:00PM. My Fiance loves Jazz, R&B and soul Music so we will like some good Jazz or Soul Music. Please, get back to me with the cost. Like I said earlier I am currently not in the country, I am currently at work in an oil rig so the only means of payment is my Credit card. I hope you do have a POS machine for credit cards charges as regards payment. Please get back to me on the costs. Regards James L****** I think I'll get back to him quoting £5000 ( I know, too cheap) and see how he reacts.. to me it is definitely a scam.
sounds dodgy, offer to take a cheque or bank order as deposit. i'm sure that there must be a way of transferral without sending your own bank details out..
  10.
Then you'll be needing The Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch.
nah, i'm sure that CNN reporters 'in the field' probably get better armour than your average squaddie. nothing short of weapons-grade plutonyblairium for her..
  11.
What are manufacturers thinking? For £1300 I'd be looking at 2nd hand and a pocket full of change or going custom.
i'm not sure manufacturers have that much choice in the matter. almost every side of the economy got battered, so it was only a matter of time before finished products reflected price rises.
  12.
Hi, having two young kids at home its difficult to get the rig out and use it for practice. This means i am normally practicing the bass without amplification and i have noticed that it is adversely effecting my technique. When i get into a gig or rehearsal with the rig the things that sounded great "acoustically" don't sound so great. What machines/tools/methods are there that you can recommend that will let me practice effectively? Thanks.
duct tape & handcuffs
  13.
2/10. Write out Hamlet's Soliloquy 20 times and present your completed work to Mrs Lupin by the close of School Day.
nooo ! she'll probably bite your head off. go see Mmlle.Lapin instead, she's much more cute and cuddly. edit - on second thoughts, she works for CNN, so she's probably a ferocious rabbit with pointy-pointy teeth..

    welcome ! get stuck in..
  15.
Thank you - so it adds lots of clank and bite (I need to listen on better speakers too)?
erm, i use it to dial in a nice slap tone when required. it seems to cut the nasty mids, and absorb heavy hits... and gives a nice clean top edge to the sound, whilst retaining the low end. (does that make any sense ?) i'm sure it would work well with tap and bridge-biased fingerstyle too..
  16.
As an inveterate fiddler with an interest in stuff one finds on the 'bay I've seen a piezo bridge and thought "what if?". Does anyone here use a piezo on a solid bass, and if so, how does it sound and what do you use it for? I wouldn't mind replacing the 'bent bit of tin' type bridge on either of my cheap basses anyway, and this might open up interesting sonic possibilities. Cheers guys.
..worth a quick watch..
  17.
Thank you all, I'll try to read as many posts as possible, and maybe even try to respond if I have something usefull to add
hey, i respond quite a lot, but seldom do i ever have anything useful to add. i didn't read the rules, though..
  18. Primus - Tommy the Cat - say no more. Squarepusher - come on my selector - twisted genius. MDC - Guns for Nicaragua - nothing complicated, just a nice line Nomeansno - Big Dick - bass and drums are sometimes the only necessary vehicles for a tune..
  19. BBC 6 Music - Craig Charles funk and soul show. Always worthwhile http://www.bbc.co.uk/6music/
  20.
The Jesus Lizard - Liar
which will give me Rollins - I am a Liar ! nicely.. awesome wah-wah bass-playing by melvyn gibbs !!! oh yes.
  21. an oldie, but a goodie... Dead Kennedys - Plastic Surgery Disasters awesome punk.
  22. hi, last year i bought a 4-string mm sterling h piezo. after settling on the particular combination i wanted, (black, black maple) it took 4 months to ship (fairly standard for your own specs). i went to my local shop, Live Music in Peterborough. i think Paul said they use http://www.stringsdirect.co.uk/ - and they are mm dealers over here, and following my recent diago powerstation purchase from them, i'd say they are extremely efficient and helpful. if you're less fussy than me, then settle for a colour scheme on a display model. i can vouch for the piezo upgrade. it works like a more musical mid-cut, great for slap, as it seems to compress large 'hits', but still retains bottom and top-end attack. i know 4 months is a long time, but it does help absorb the hit on the credit-card ! LATER EDIT : WRONG ! it wasn't strings direct , it was strings and things (sorry, he crawls away embarassed !), i may just add this post to the 'senior moments' thread !! http://www.stringsandthings.co.uk/ they are wholesalers, so you can't order from them directly, but they can answer queries/concerns etc.. they will also recommend a shop near you to deal with.
  23. from an item on today's news - COFFIN ACADEMY would be a great death metal band name !!
  24.
Now, I don't much care for slap, but I remember seeing this on "The Tube"... 3:15 - 4:22 Russell Jackson - woah!
i've only just got 'round to watching this, but F**K Yes !! some power in that !!
