1. Is he after a Wal? I didn't like to ask - but maybe he'll take a fence...
 2.
Hey Conan, I'll bear that in mind when it goes but would be nice to take a look first and you're a fair distance away. Wife is from Hexham tho so a trip north isn't impossible.
No worries. I'm not exactly snowed under with great offers for it at the moment...
 3. Why do people ask about a bass then bugger off without responding to your answer?!
 4. Although I don't really want your P (I've just sold one!), I'm selling a Cort Curbow 5 for £250 if you are interested? See my sig for the link...
 5. Maybe Wor Javier is a Buddhist? It's nice to see so many old threads re-incarnated.
 6.
Bad form?? Isn't it better to be informed rather than misinformed? OK, read the rules and as a newbie didn't know you could send PM's. Think the 'mean' looking smiley was necessary - bad form that man!
I'm not sure that asking for an ambitious price at the start of a for sale thread is "misinformation". Sellers are entitled to ask whatever price they like on their own threads. If the price is too high the item will not generate much interest and the seller may well reduce the price accordingly. On this particular forum it IS considered "bad form" to question a sellers price in such an open manner. PM is cool. Perhaps the grumpy face was slightly gilding the lily, I'll grant you that!
 7.
Man even if this thread is "dead".... price are not to be discussed in public. Any concern for price should be done via PM.
Indeed. Bad form that man. Read the rules!
 8.
£50 is a reasonable price depending on the amount of 'work' the seller says it needs.
Indeed. Fifty quid is a very good price if the guitar is a good 'un. But it does depend how much "work" is needed and whether you can do it yourself. If you have to pay someone else to sort out problems then it probably isn't worth it. IMO of course.
 9. Nut has already been replaced, and bridge pickup needs replacement if the guitar is to be playable. Oh, and the frets are shagged too. Sounds like great value. Not. 10. Some interest but still here...
 11.
i have another that is geddying in the way of the jazz (see what i did there)
That's quality that is!! Bump for a great bass.
 12. Is it as good as this tone though...? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lUrH4NrqIjw&feature=related
 13. And a very similar tone from this P... unless miming of course! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4wQB900tFvI&feature=related
 14.
And a Thunderbird as well....
Certainly a T-bird on this clip. Nice tone! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WxAZU7PK8OA
 15. Are the original parts (neck, bridge, pickups) still available?
 16.
The new neck really does marry perfectly with the body, they sound superb together, it really works! Jon Shuker has done a brilliant job!!
And there was me thinking that my Geddy-GAS had been cured! Damn you!!
 17. So all that remains of the original "Geddy" is the body and scratchplate? Sounds like a lovely bass, but is it really a "Fender Geddy Lee" when there is so little of the original left? Anyway - have a bump. These are brilliant basses whoever makes them!
 18.
I'm not a Pro
The OP asked about professionals specifically. Maybe the thoughts of amateurs/semi-pros should ber another thread?
 19.
I guess it's down to the individual and them having awareness of how it affects their abilities.
Yes. A lot of pontifficating on this thread.
 20.
Classy.
Just trying to be helpful.
 21. Interesting idea! Maybe we should start up a "swap-shop" thread, so that if you are just a bit bored with a bass and want to try something else, you don't actually have to sell it - just swap with someone else for a while!! I like that idea. Anyone like to swap a nice fretless for my Status? Just for a while of course...
 22.
Overall, it`s what you put out to the punters that ultimately matters... it works better in my band.
Yeah, that's what I think too. Fortunately I'm in a band where everyone has enough maturity and insight to listen to each other and themselves. The total is more than the sum of the parts. IMO of course!
 23.
I don't think its a childish point though, if they don't notice any difference and you're happier with your sound then everyone is happy.
Sorry, I didn't mean that you were being childish... but that I would be being childish to take two basses to bits just to try to trick a bunch of non-bassists!! Much easier to swap the pickups over (put the wizards in the Geddy) without telling anyone and see what the reaction is... Hmmm, that might bean idea actually!
 24. Nice review here... http://sites.thestar...udiofile/05cort And some other interesting info here...
