1.
As for the price. Does it not sit around the same price as a Pino Custom Shop Sig?
Maybe Pino is regarded as being more "upmarket" and therefore worthy of the price tag? Certainly both basses are rather aggressively relicked (sp?) but essentially very simple instruments...
 2. Which album/track was it?
 3. A psychologist would have a field-day with this thread! On finding "the one" must one abandon all others as long as ye shall live?
 4.
Having one bass to me is like only having one 10mm spanner in the tool box. some folk can go their entire lives with one 10mm spanner but now and again you need a different one to get the job done. .
That's just nuts!
 5.
Somebody mentioned Dave Meros but no-one's put any clips up!
I did! See page one. But not this one...
 6.
I absolutely hate signature guitars. Its only a sales gimmick for dummies who think that by buying a sig bass will make them play like the person its named after.
Well this dummy is looking forward to the arrival of his Geddy Lee jazz bass!
 7.
Like many people here, I tend to shy away from buying from low-post count noobs, thus one might contend that an informal system is already in place.
Me too.... but then I have just sold a bass to a newbie and he turned out to be as honest as the day is long!! Just goes to show.
 8. Sold - and on it's way north by this evening I hope!!

 10. Is it a good thing that people keep referring to me as "all round"?!
 11. Never heard of the band before, but I really enjoyed that! Great stuff. A real eighties vibe, but in a good way! A definite Calvin Harris thang going on with the vocals... Might have to investigate further!
 12.
Oh well at least my balls are safe for the time being.
Always nice to know.
 13. Result! Excellent price for a great budget bass. And everyone's happy!
 14.
I love stainles steel strings...the brighter the better!

Do you guys like new strings? I hate 'em. All that brightness is so un-bass.
15. After years of using rotos, then Elites, then D'Addarios I am now working my way through the DR range! I am pretty impressed. They are not cheap, but they just seem to have more tone than the other strings I've used. Nice feel too
 16.
It would be interesting to know what percentage of basses put up for sale actually sell. It's not really a Basschat problem though, I'm sure most basses put on eBay with a BIN or a start price close to the market value don't sell either.
It seems to depend on the market sector. There is plenty of movement at the budget end of the price scale, and deluxe basses always seem to shift.... more problems in the £300 - £1500 range perhaps? In the last few months I 've bought strings, fretboard markers and a bass. I've sold two guitars and a bass. Sales are happening.
 17. A rose by any other name would smell as sweet.... Unless it's a rose with no fragrance.
 18.
About as useful as a chocolate fireguard. Sorry. Just wanted to use that saying.
Or an ashtray on a motorbike?
 19.
The bassist in The New Mastersounds has a great Precision sound. He's also a damn good player.........as I'm sure you'll agree.
Hell of a rhythm section all round! Although I'm not sure how much of the "P tone" comes through in this clip as all of his playing is so staccato and he clearly has the tone control rolled right off... Very nice though!
 20. Thanks mate. I'm not exactly struggling with the Cort, I just think it needs a lighter touch than I would choose to give it! Your bass looks interesting mind!
 21.
Sorry Guy! The Bass Has Been Sold... To ME!
Is this the one you are currently trying to sell?!?
 22. Hasn't this already been posted?
 23. A few people have talked about the low B string sounding poor in comparison to the other strings. Could this be due to the reduced ability of cabinets to reproduce these frequencies, or is there an inherent problem in the design of the basses themselves that makes the lowest string the weakest link? Surely the diameter/gauge of the low B string also becomes an issue, particularly with intonation? Or is it just that our ears have become habituated to hearing notes in the "normal" E - G range and struggle with the lower notes? I find this fascinating!
 24. Alister just bought my Squier Affinity P-bass. Great communications, asked sensible questions, paid very quickly and arranged the shipping! What more could you want from a buyer? Highly recommended.
