  1. I saw this bass during its build and also got to briefly ogle it in the flesh when it was finished. It is sublime. If I didn’t already have a Zoot Funkmeister (plus another on the way….) I’d be considering this as my first foray into Zoot ownership. Plus Mark is a top notch chap
  2. Both by back and my bank account fainted when they saw that

    Ashdown ABM210H

Yup. And Mark Gooday has long been an advocate for unlined cabs - there’s an interview where he says so but also admitted that the rest of the Ashdown crew were slowly twisting his arm to follow the science of lining them!
  4. @Russ - how are you getting on with this? Still waiting for a UK release to torment my bank account…
  5. Mods, please feel free to move this but figured it’d get more exposure here… I have a spare ticket for Skunk Anansie at Brighton Dome tomorrow because a friend’s had to drop out. Anyone fancy it?
  6. Damn, one appears to be on hold yes. Ah well.
  7. @tauzerohas one of the GR combos - forgive me I can’t remember which - but that was immediately my first thought reading your first sentence Mark. Id be very tempted by them or indeed the GK Fusion combo if I were looking at that sort of thing right now
  8. I woz there too. Great gig. Great, oft underrated band. Love the rhythm section, think Eric Kretz is one of my favourite drummers. Powerful but restrained and a really lovely fee and groove.
  9. Great amps, simple to use but easy to get a decent sound. Loud as flip too. Which of your plethora of Barefaced cabs will you pair this with? 😁
  10. My thoughts exactly. In Suffolk too.
  11. Oooof. If you were closer I’d be selling my wife for this 😄
  12. £25 posted to the mainland UK. A great little alternative to the EHX Bassballs. Selling because I’ve switched to a wah pedal as it suits my projects far better.
  13. Pedaltrain Metro 16 with gigbag - £40 posted UK mainland I’ve been holding onto this pedalboard, because as much as I love my bigger board with all its pedal fun I also love the idea of having a smaller board and keep trying to squeeze everything onto this! I can’t, physics makes it impossible sadly. So I really should flog it - here I am doing exactly that. Fully Velcro’d on the top and also a little underneath to fit a power supply should you so desire. I also added some taller feet (simply stuck on) to raise it to fit said PSU. Not much else to say really, price at the top. Cheers! edit to add the photos!
  14. I did a gig just before lockdown and the headline band used a MiBass head. Actually the opening band did too, I was the awkward bugger who changed out to my RM800. Have to say it sounded immense. I’ve even heard this exact rig A/B’d against my Glockenklang and it held its own.
  15. Mike’s been busy making a bass shape from bits of wood. I think the fingerboard is going to be pretty special in an understated but classy way…:
  16. I almost concur. The only caveat is that someone other than me needs to be playing the bass. 🤓
  17. Got new grilles from Barefaced today. Oriented right for the stack and with the new logo. Nice 😎
  18. Think that was filmed as well and is on iplayer to watch. Really good show, his enthusiasm and love for rock and roll, plus his friendly and bright nature, made it a really interesting watch. As a band I always found the Foos a bit hit and miss but there’s no denying Taylor was a force of nature and for whatever reason his death has hit harder than most.
  19. Gorgeous bass 😍
  20. Not both, at least not both as in one in the 8 ohm socket and one in the 4 ohm socket. Ultimately with a valve amp you have to select a transformer tap from which you will take the power - in this instance you have options of 8, 4 or 2 ohm taps. Both the 4 and 2 ohm taps have two sockets wired in parallel, allowing you to use 2x 8 ohm cabs (4 ohm tap) or 2x 4 ohm cabs (2 ohm tap). You could, possibly, plug them both into the 4 ohm socket as the combined nominal impedance of 2.67 ohms is still ok (valve amps prefer lower impedances than higher, the opposite of solid state amps); the Ampeg manual doesn’t recommend this concept of mismatched impedance though.
  21. Having read the manual myself, I now want one FFS 😂
  22. Doesn’t matter, it’s a valve amp isn’t it? So full power goes to any of the taps. So of course if 4 ohm cabs in the right flavour are easier to find, it’s no issue but if not, use the 4 ohm tap with 2x 8 ohm cabs
  23. I *think* this is roughly the chronology…: Gen 1 tends to be the 15” drivers - the original Compact, Vintage, Big One etc. Gen 2 is where the 12” drivers appeared such as this cab (Super Twelve/Super Twelve T), Big Baby, Big Twin. Gen 3 is where they introduced their own proprietary drivers - Super Compact, Super Midget, Super Twin, Big Baby 2, Big Twin 2 and the 10” cabs ETA: the whole “Gen” thing only really became a naming thing when the Gen 3 stuff appeared. Bit like Red Dwarf; seasons 1 and 2 were just called Red Dwarf. It only started getting the number from season 3 🤓
