1. BTA200 - still an absolute beast and one of only about 20 in existence apparently, according to the man himself
2. It's ridiculous in every way. Much bigger, heavier and more cumbersome to move around, and only just sits on those cabs without slipping off, but the sound is incredible. With everything set flat it just sings at you, add a bit of preamp valve drive and you're off laughing all the way to the end of the gig. The CTM is a fabulous amp but on bigger gigs (such as last night!) it did run out of steam occasionally. Not in a bad way because you get that glorious power tube saturation and compression, however for my band that particular sound isn't really required until the last few songs in the second set so I just fancied something with a big valve output stage I could keep cleaner. This is it in spades, loads of tonal options on the front end and if I want to push the power amp hard I can do. Love it
3. There's a new monster in there. It sounds immense at tonight's gig, though not sure the band are so keen on the larger form factor and weight
4. In: ACG Graft Recurve 5 Out: Status Shark 5 Status Groove 4 Status Groove fretless ACG Graft Recurve 5 2015 will see at least one ACG Finn appear (currently in gestation) and hopefully a second depending on finances
5. Peavey has closed it's UK distribution, yes. That doesn't necessarily ran we won't see Trace back on these shores soon, I'm sure Peavey will have some idea of a future plan to sell here
6. It's no worse than the Markbass logo IMO
7. Oh man if that was a 33" scale it would be hard to resist, it's almost a 5 string version of the 4 string I recently specced with Alan Gorgeous, GLWTS
8.
Martin, if you're still in the area, you'd be welcome to pop down and try mine when I get them.
Ah cheers dude - gives us a chance to do a proper A/B vs the Super Compacts I own (Obviously comparing apples with oranges...) Hope all is well!
9.
wouldnt it be the same size and the ports the same size however they are configured?
Yes
10. What an awesome present Enjoy it and review when you can Still tempted by these cabs to go with my valve amp...
11. Nice work I see you have Geddy Lee's signature "cab" in the background too
12. That spalt maple top is incredible

Bought a GigRig Quartermaster from Luke (in order to make my pedalboard look more complicated than it actually is, haha); he was very easy to deal with and a quicker delivery I couldn't have asked for, many thanks
14. Has anyone seen what Ashdown are introducing at NAMM? Looks like the chaps who wanted a class D 12-band head are in luck
15. Man to have that behind you onstage must have been immense. Epic rig, GLWTS
16. Terrible news, sorry to hear that
17. Sold Chris a set of DR strings, was an absolute pleasure to deal with, but then I knew that would be the case because when I met him earlier this year he proved himself to be a top bloke (and rather fine player too)
18. Oh man the 4x8 cab sounded glorious. Wasn't too good at being super loud but sounded soooo sweet
19. I also had a v type 4x8 combo, 48kg if I recall. Ouch! Never had a Twin Valve, quite fancy the Quatra Valve but rarer that a rare thing from raresville...
20. Buy it and if you decide you don't like it I'll chew your arm off for it
21. No longer available, I missed out on the other ampo I was after CTM100 Bought from Walbassist in January of this year, reasonably gigged but in excellent condition. Comes with a 4mm padded Roqsolid cover. This is a superb gigging amp and the only reason I'm considering selling is a slightly special Ashdown valve head has been spotted which I quite fancy! If that goes then this is no longer for sale... No longer for sale ABM500 EVOII Bought from chenzman in July, this has seen better days cosmetically but has just been given a clean bill of health from Ashdown, plus a clean up of the pots and front panel! Price reflects its cosmetic condition, electrically and sonically this thing sings beautifully. I appreciate there are other ABM500 amps for more money on here, I'm not trying to undercut them but the cosmetic condition of e other examples is superior to mine so they are worth every penny more if that is something which concerns you. Plus I am passing on the great price I paid! No longer for sale
22. Brand new, unopened, box still in the plastic wrapping. Found when sorting through things, decided to stick with Status Half rounds for my new ACG Finn (still in gestation!) so these are up for grabs 45-65-85-105-125 SOLD
23. Looks great! I wonder if they'll tolex the other cabs in the future...?
24. Sounds like a cracking deal to me
