1. Does it have a valve in it? I thought these were solid state? Very rare amp nonetheless, good luck with the sale
2. I keep coming to look at this.... Stop saying encouraging thinks about it....
3. PS I've never had any issue with any of the Ashdown's I've owned (on my 2nd ABM EVO II, had a CTM100 as well which was ace); also got an RM800 on order for which I have high hopes I think the reliability thing was way back when they first moved production of some parts to China but they are far far better now than they were. They have readily admitted to making mistakes and learning lessons with things like the MAG reliability, Superfly and Little Giant series. I'd have no problem trusting the new ABM EVO IV
4. The new ABM600 has a lifetime warranty I believe. Tonally it is supposed to be an ABM500 EVO III on steroids, and what I heard at the London Bass Show would back that up. Have to say their Foundation cabs sounded nice too.
5. Our main guitarist has fractured a finger and is out of action. We have three gigs, one every Saturday, in the period he's been told to keep his finger in plaster. Honestly it's ridiculous and OTT but there we go. Standard pop/rock covers fare, two gigs in Surrey and one in Borehamwood. We have tried EVERYONE we know to no avail. If you can think of anyone please please please pass me their details
6. Could all the trouble at Calais/Channel Tunnel/Ferries have anything to do with it?
7. Mikkel bought a Prunes and Custard pedal from me today, nice straightforward deal. Many thanks and enjoy!
8. Oh wow, always wanted one of these, alas cannot afford it justify it right now! Good luck with the sale
9. Methinks HJ was being silly
10.
It sort of makes sense but I wonder how fast that 15" can move for reproducing high-end distortion. I wonder if he has changed his sound over the years because if you listen to early Mr Big compared to the recent Niacin album, there is much less fizz on his recent sound, typically.
That's a bit of overthinking there - there are several threads where people like Alex Barefaced and Bill BFM have discounted the "15s are slower" myth. The reasons Billy Sheehan gives are basically spot on:)
11. Bump for the Crowther and Quartermaster, everything else has a new home
12. Just sold John an EHX Nano Bassballs in a faster time than Amazon could achieve I reckon. V quick comms and payment, superb!
13. I agree with Chis - GK MB200 or TC BH250 plus something like and Ashdown Mi10 cab
14. Sold Steve an sfx micro Thumpinator. He was an absolute pleasure to deal with and very patient with me
15. Cool a build thread too!
16. First post updated, two sold and the rest still here. No longer after any trades thanks!
17. Nice one
18. ACG Uber Finn of some description for me. Absolutely adore my Finn Custom
19. Ashdown + Barefaced is a great combination IMO
20. Graham bought an Aguilar Octamiser from me and an easier sale I couldn't have asked for. Thank you muchly!
21. Cliff just bought an Eden head from me and it couldn't have been easier, hope you enjoy your new amp!
22.
Just noticed that some of the major stores are now showing these in stock - anybody got one yet?
Yeah, looking back at my January post they were a bit optimistic!! The Retroglide is certainly out there now but not aware of anyone who has one. The RM800, meanwhile, is due end of July now...
23. Have had a few enquiries about the Thumpinator - everyone is in line based on when I receive the message if that's OK The Prunes and Custard has had the electrical tape saying "Beans on Toast" removed, a little bit of the screen print has been removed in the process sadly but it's all good other than that.
24. Hi all, Decided I need to slim down my pedalboard as it's just a bit silly for what I actually use. I'll get photos up ASAP, here's the list and prices first. Shipping to UK mainland is included, further afield please ask. No power supplies included but all have Velcro on the underside already, original box will be supplied if possible as not sure where they all are :/ Crowther Audio Prunes and Custard £130 (with original box) sold Aguilar Octamiser £80 sold sfx Microthumpinator £75 sold EHX Nano Bassballs £30 (with original box) sold Gigrig Quartermaster £70 sold T-Rex pedal board £60 sold Not interested in any trades I'm afraid.
