Thanks for that your reply π Well, it's home, very pleased with it and looking forward to the journey ahead. A setup & strings, as mentioned in the above posts are fairly imminent but I'm getting a decent noise out of it, as is.
-
Thank you. Would you have any suggestions for that style. I get that string choice is personal but any guidance would be gratefully received. Ian

Another bloody rabbit hole π

Ok, for better or for worse, I've done a deal at Β£900 subject to viewing on Saturday. I'll report back. Thanks to all for your advice, I'm sure I'll be back for more. All the best π

Thanks for your input guys. I'll go and have a look at it. I've talked my D B player mate into coming along so will see how it works out.

https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1238010064525230/ https://ebay.us/m/S5NwaJ As an electric bass player for over 50yrs, I've never been down the DB route. Obviously, I haven't got a clue but nothing ventured, nothing gained. I've done research on these but as always, everyone has differing opinions. There are a couple of rockabilly guys around here who could possibly try it out for me, it's only 25 miles away. I'm sure the price is negotiable, lots of variables I guess. Is it worth a punt ? Cheers Ian

Lee, I've been down that route. Alcohol numbs the pain but nearly cost me my life. Hang on in there. It will get better π -

SOLD As far as I know this is a original example. My knowledge is limited, so please feel free to correct me if necessary. (Astrays & thumb rest probably not) It weighs in at 11lb which is too much now in my advancing years but it sounds immense and is a pleasure to play with the 'A' neck if that floats your boat. I can ship in a hard case including UK postage.- 5 replies

Received Peter's Atlas compressor earlier today. Faultless transaction, kept me informed along the way and packaging was spot on π. Thanks again Peter.
-
@Jack Did you resolve this? I can't recall it being an issue when I owned it. Saying that, it wasn't played that often. I'd quite gladly buy it back though π.

Currently for the Revolt & HX One. I have a Source Audio midi adapter ordered to link the Atlas. This is my 1st venture into midi. It's a steep learning curve for me but the Morningstar software is pretty good π

I believe that the body will require routing to accommodate the new Dingwall 'minimalist' bridge. I fitted the early Payson bridge to a NG3, which didn't entirely cover the earth wire rout. A grommet was supplied to fill the gap which was just about acceptable. As mentioned above, the current Payson bridges do not have this issue.

This is the board I tend to use for rehearsals.

Good to deal with Brian again. As usual a faultless transaction, great comms & excellent packaging. Thanks again Brian π
