  1. Ordered a preamp from them 7th Jan, arrived 9th delivered by Parcel Force. Never used Bax before, good price and no issues.
  2. Excellent condition, unmarked USA 5 string bass. Never gigged, light home use only. Strung with Thomastik Ti Jazz Flats, original strings included. Schaller strap locks fitted. Fender molded case included. Local collection preferred or buyer organises courier at own expense.
  3. 1st rehearsal with the new band today Was a little apprehensive but I've nothing to worry about. Great set of lads my age group (58-62) and I feel positive moving forward. I was spared "Rio" this time though. 😄 Fully equipped studio too which is a bonus.
  4. About 5yrs ago. Not much has changed apart from the Ibanez.
  5. One of the band members is on keys/ synth so will work round things with him. Rehearse every Thursday 10am till 2pm, that suits me fine 🙂
  6. Something to be going on with.
  7. I've only gone and got the position. Great set of blokes, 58-62yrs old and I'm the oldest. Best get those Duran Duran albums out. Thanks for your kind comments folks.🙂
  8. Well, 2023 was pretty much a write off what with the band of 6yrs folding and illness on my part. So back to decent health and missing the gigs, I advertised my services on Bandmix and have a meeting / audition with an 80's cover band tomorrow. Looking forward to it. 👌
  9. I think I would class those as 'sundries' 🤔 Otherwise nothing would get done.
  10. Hello Sam 👋
  11. I've spent a lot of money with them over the years with no issues whatsoever and tried a bass or two before parting with my cash. Living out in the sticks it's my go to store being 30 miles away.
  12. I use this adjustable/ foldable stand to give my c115t some height. A custom case as you suggest for your cabs will do the job though.
  13. Always keep nail clippers in the case. Never need to cut them right down though.
  14. WD40. The '40' was the amount of attempts it took to perfect the lubricant. Another bit of useless information 🙄
  15. Hi and welcome 👍
  16. A motorcycle accident, 45yrs in the motor trade, 5yrs retained firefighter and 2 prolonged sciatica episodes have led to being very careful these days. Currently, lower back and knee issues. Gentle exercise/ walking is my way forward oh and downsizing the Trace and Hartke stuff.
  17. Arthritis in both thumb I.P joints, cannot bend them without extreme pain but doesn't affect my playing too much. Worked with a guy some years ago with Dupytrens in both hands and feet, had the ops but the condition returned, can't work now.
  18. Neat install, saves you from resorting to burn your bass to keep warm.
  19. My 2nd Kliq strap arrived yesterday in readiness for the T-Bird delivery tomorrow, yay. Really comfortable straps though.
  20. Hello Bass Novice, welcome to Basschat
  21. I really regret selling my 1976 Thunderbird which was bought for £500 about 1980. Sold it to a music shop in York for £300 to pay the rent. Subsequently heard that the new owner had broken the headstock. Never mind...
  22. 12 months ago I became really ill. We started the band from scratch and we're pretty good over the 6 years /4-6 gigs a month. The last year has been a nightmare for me being in an out of hospital and the band folding, the guitarist got fed up along with one of the vocalists. I'm in a much better place now and would love to get back on stage again, after playing gigs for over 45 years l can't get my head around messing around at home. I'm also single, retired and live alone so miss the interaction very much. Need to get back on the bike in more ways than one. My issues were sciatica and alcohol abuse, sciatica cleared up and not a drop consumed since. Feel great and raring to go. I'll probably drop by the depression thread at some point and explain a little more 🙃
  23. About 8 years ago I bought this 1965 Precision from Kings Rd Vintage Guitars. The neck plate number on Guitar dater says 1956, nothing found on the Fender site. It was advertised as being the house bass at Shangri-la Recording Studios and came in a Vintage case with the 'Mountain Dew Boys' stenciling on it. Somewhat battered and bruised but plays and sounds really good. Weird regarding the plate number though.
  24. Trace Elliott AH500 2x10+1x15 and Hartke LH1000+2 4x10 cabs are the big guns I'm very happy with. However, due to advancing years it's the Ashdown through the p.a that gets the work these days. The old HH hasn't moved for years.
  25. I've used the Shure GLXD4 setup for years now without issue.
