^^^i agree that the forum is about asking questions and answering, but when you want answers quickly, asking can take a while. i'd trust the basschat wiki more than wikipedia or something, because only basschat members can log onto it. so i think it would be cool to get the wiki up and running more because then you don't have to wait an hour or so for someone to answer your questions, you can just look it up.

i dont know what hamsters on about lol . i agree with you, when i had a jazz i played mostly on the from pup, with a little bit of bridge pup just to sgtop it being too thin. i completely agree about the back pickup being nasal, only on a stingray have i ever found a back pup that i REALLY liked.

I've just seen a thread where someones thinking of selling a musicman sabre, just an idea. +1 for the fender, whoever said that. if you dont know what you want go for a fender, they practically set the standard for basses.

You want the corvette $$! its got a pair of humbukers (the back one sounds a lot like a 2EQ stingray), but a switch to make them single coil like the stanard corvette. My dad owns both a 3EQ stingray and a corvette $$ and they're both great basses, the corvette a little more versatile. I also depends on what music your playing, because I would only really reccomend either of them for rock music. The warwick weighs a little more, but it hasv the nicest neck I've ever played. I'd definatly reccomend the corvette $$!!!

i gotta agree that its wierd. i can understand custom basses that dont have a brand name... but calling a precision peter or something silly like that... its wrong

OK, I'm planning on doing a shuker build, so I want to know what you think of my idea. I don't know much about what woods or anything are good together, so I wanted to see what you think. Heres the basic idea: Single cut ash body p bass sized wenge neck with wenge fretboard some sort of 2 band EQ seymour duncan ceramic musicman pickup volume/treble/bass controls I'm not sure about ash and wenge going together, for starters. You don't see them together, why is that? I've never played a single cut before, I just want one because they look cool. Do they change the sound and do they feel different to play than a double cut? What sorts of 2 band EQ would you reccomend that shuker will stock? I don't know anything about electrics, so say what you like. Also, I like the tone I get from my dad's stingray. Will I be able to get a similar sound from this build? Are there any pickups that are better at impersonating a stingray stock pickup than the duncan?

If you want a cheap stingray copy OLP is definatly the way to go! If mikeh's is the silver one in the for sale section, I'd go for that, its really cheap!

yeh, the active jazz seems a much better buy.
